Confederate has some pretty impressive designs in my opinion. One of the few "customs" I could see buying if someone dropped a bunch of money in my lap.

lcap, it's a V-twin of the Harley clone ilk. I think that they are running a Jim's 120 http://www.riveraengineering.com/html/cat-pdf.php?fn=category/Complete%20Engines/P.%20148%20%20COMPLETE%20JIMS%20ENGINE-120%20TWIN%20CAM.pdf . It's tough to get too far over 150 with the 45 degree V twins.

jjaszkow,

I was reading about the HSR-Benelli jet ski they are working on last night. It's has a 450 HP for something to skip along on the water! Shocked Also read about Sea Doo's 255 hp jet ski---0-60 mph in a little over 4 seconds!

cameraboy, If I remember right, Stellican PE purchased Chris Craft in 2001, and Indian in 2004. Stephen Julius is the Chairman of both companies (and Stellican) ... and incidentally has something to do with Riva Yachts too. Smile

lcap, NICE! Does it even touch the water when it gets going?

Those are both based on a significantly different engine platform than a 45 degree air/oil cooled V-twin. Even the Duc 1098 "only" has 180hp (but not nearly the torque that the Jim's motor gets) out of their liquid cooled twin.

jjaszkow,

I'm in Jay Leno's camp, I like his turbine powered motorcycle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTmgfF1zghg

They really don't touch the water often---they more like land occasionally for a split second.

I'm going to look at the Sea Doo RXT-X today--0-30mph in less than 2 seconds! Faster than a Ferrari! Shocked Because the Coast Guard put a limit on PWC's at 65mph the manufacturers are working on quickness to win.

Hopefully enough people are freaked about the gas prices there are deals to be had for one of these water racers!

joebananas, Yea I have a dealership right down the road. http://www.napalmmotorsports.com/default.asp

Went to there show room and was blown away by the victory design.

Not a fan of the road touring bikes, but I like that they are pushing the design boundary fro bikes. Look at the Vision model.

As "modern" as that is, it's interesting that it's using a lot of faring, and lots of chrome. It's almost reminiscent of 1950's chevy's, with all the chrome and metal. It makes one wonder what's going on in the subconscious that this look is becoming popular again.

I like it, but it's a little bit offputting at very first glance. I wonder if cars will go that route again...fuel efficient cars that look like the cars of the 50's when oil was cheap and we were all optimistic...

Dpierce37, have you seen that Vision in person? That is one huge as all hell bike. It's like a two wheel tank!

cameraboy, I love the Indian motorcycle. Those are absolutely beautiful.

Oh the drama! the sky is falling the sky is falling!

I think people are sick of cars all looking alike. Look at the styling of the 50's with all of the chrome cars really stood out.
Plus trends are cyclical.

I was the GM at the Polaris/Vic dealer here. The Vision rides like a small bike. I was getting 49 mpg during the dealer meeting in Nashville this summer. Very impressive machine, but some people don't care for the ultra modern design.

chavez, love the 650, but unfortunately I don't really have a practical use for one. A friend just traded off a K1200S, I was really tempted to make him an offer.
