| no. packers won't release him. besides, why would he want to play for the bears? there are other, better teams who are dieing for a qb. |

| STPHNSN23, top two teams in need of a qb are in the NFC North. I doubt it's going to happen either. He just needs to stay retired either way (can't believe i just typed that). |

I the Pack releases him, I don't see why it couldn't happen.
Rocko,
Why would you want Farve to stay retired? He obviously can still play, is a legend....and is as fun as it gets as far as quarterbacks go... |

| Rocko, i agree, but neither of them is in chicago. vikings, bucs or even lions make way more sense if he were to be released. if he really wants to come back, though, i can't see why GB wouldn't want him. |

I'll take a shot at that one.... Maybe because he took them to the NFC championship game last year, missing the Super Bowl by overtime..... He went for 28/15 4155 yards while completing 67% of his passes....
....and they are replacing him with a guy that has played in a total of 7 games in his 3 year NFL career, has thrown 59 passes and has as many touchdown passes and interceptions....one of each. He has also taken 9 sacks, averaging going down about every 6.5 times he drops back.... He has also lost a fumble in about every other game he has played in....
If I had to put someone under center for this years Packer team.....I am fairly confident who I would go with.... |

I'm a big fan of Favre, but I have mixed feelings about him playing anymore. It is going to be interesting to see what GB does if this gets serious. They would be smart to let Favre play, if he wants to, but they need to have the next QB in line spending more time on the field if they do that, so the transition isn't so harsh. It would be really strange to see him come back and go play for another team. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Okie Boarder, As a Chicago fan, Favre today is better than any of our other options.
He is a blue collar player that would become an instant GOD in Chicago.
Let's not forget the purpose of major league sports, RATINGS! Can you imagine the ratings?
Can I imagine a completed pass? _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

E.J., I think when you say you're retired you should stick to your word. Micheal Jordan started this BS, Roger Clemens (biggest POS IMO) did this too making how many f'ing millions to play 1/2 a season and still didn't have to travel with the team when he wasn't scheduled to pitch.
It's not like i'm going to be pissed if/when he does come back, it's just that I finally became ok with him not being on the field this year.
Also if, big fawking if, he does get released from the Pack he will have to agree not join a NFC North team plain and simple. He def could become a Buc (Gruden is QB happy) and is one of the many that have a hardon for this guy. Maybe Carolina I guess. |

muckmeister, I hear ya and I agree whole heartedly. I think he is one of the games best players and he has always maintained that blue collar player approach. I know he loves the game and it is probably killing him to think about not playing, but he is really risking some major injury. I think he should just enjoy his retirement. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

The legendary quarterback has officially asked the Packers to release him, FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports. The request was first reported by ESPN.com. |

What injury is he risking that every player in the NFL is not? |

i hope he gets hit by a bus.
now that i've said that, he's not going to play in the nfc north. at all. period.
why anyone would think he would be good in minnesota is beyond me. dude sucks indoors.
he'd be a nice fit in tampa or carolina. |

So to clarify, Brett Favre is more likely to have a compound fracture of his tibia and fibula than any other quarterback in the league?
What.......
Jt,
Why is he not going to play in the NFC North? I think Chicago and Minnesota are both viable options if he is released...... |

| he's not going to be released. precisely so he can't play in the nfc north, because they are two of the most viable options for him. gb's not stupid. besides, he has some trade value. no reason to give away what you can get a 3rd or 4th round pick for. |

It is getting juicy...
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8335678?MSNHPHMA
The Packers legend asked the team for his unconditional release on Friday, but the organization has no intention of granting that request, FOXSports.com has learned. If anything, sources say, the team is prepared to welcome Favre back as a backup to Aaron Rodgers.
Ohhhhh......bet that comment sat well with Favre.... This is going to be great for the locker room.... |

Yes, in a way. It seems like it tends to happen to the older players that stick around longer than they should or do a comeback like that, more than the younger players. Just an observation. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

| Okie Boarder, no it's more like this will not sit well with the city of Green Bay. I don't think they are gonna be too happy to see Favre on the sideline. |
