Admit it, you want a Hyperlite because of that big Canuk named Rusty, dont'cha? Mr. Green Just kidding.

The standard answer here is demo boards and find the one you like. The reality is, not everyone has access to a pro shop. In that case, all you can really do is try to find a board that seems to fit your style of riding. Board size is pretty subjective but a good starting point would be to decide on a range of length based on your weight. From there, try to figure out what you want from a board. Speed? Pop? 3-stage vs. continuous vs. ??? rocker...etc.

As far as the Hyperlite lineup, I've only ridden one board out of their current offerings. It was the B-Side, J.D. Webb's pro model. I loved the way it launched but it was a 136 and was just a bit small for me (I'm 225 lbs). If I get a chance to ride the 141, I'll jump at it. Cool

I think the Trip is a solid choice. Its more advanced than a beginners board but more forgiving than some of the pro models. LF rates the Trip 138 for riders 150-225 lbs. If you fall within that weight range then you should be fine. What kind of bindings are you getting with the package? I'm assuming that you mean $549 CN right?

The Trip/Alpha is a common LF package deal. I'd say its a solid setup that won't hold you back. As long as the bindings fit you comfortably you'll be all set. Cool

I am going to post over here too, want another opinion on my board size its starting to make me nervous but then I have only got 1 response have not used it yet.

CWB Bella 124 (kids yes I know) w/ Bliss Hinge bindings
My stats:
103 on a heavy day
5' 2 1/2"
Beginner
**not going to do a ton of jumping as of now...never been on a board before**

now my husband just returned his LF board because they were missing something for it and couldnt find it instead he now has a - good board?

whit123, CWB rates the 124 Bella for riders 90-125 lbs so you should be fine. Get out there and ride. Cool

My buddy's girlfriend decided she wanted a wakeboard so, without any input or assistance from him, she bought one at a local sporting goods store. Unfortunately, the saleshole knew NOTHING about wakeboarding and she ended up buying some tiny kids' board. She weighs about 120 lbs. The board is a 121 and has a picture of a giraffe on it. Laughing Laughing Laughing It is definitely a tiny board, but she has been riding it and is getting the hang of it. Smile

***********I am 5'2, bit heavier than you, and my first board is a size 125 (HL). I even wear kids bindings because they fit me the best. You should have no problems with this size board.
