New member here in Houston Texas. My roomate and I just got a ski centurion its alittle old but in good condition. We made our own pylon extension cuz we have one of the few boats with a 3" ski pole. We are just starting out but I have done a few hs w2w jumps and some surface 180's. Our wake sucks we need some wieght bad, so with the money we saved on the extension will go toward some fat sacs. After searching a few threads I think we need to bring in the rope a few feet too(Its at 75 ft in the pics). Heres a couple of pics, i'll post some more alittle later. Smile

Awesome boat! Welcome! You may want to expirement with your length a bit, maybe 70 or even 65 feet. Throw some ballast in there, and you will start moving up!

hey cody i am in the exact same situation... well i wanted to say same boat as the saying goes but then i thought it would be confusing... i ride behind a 1988 malibu skier. Its my families and well a boat is a boat so i had to upgrade it. i bought a cheep little tower for 400$ and threw it on there and added tons of weight. Funny story about that is that i live on a private lake that wont allow wake enhancements of any kind. And if you do have some and they catch you they ban you from the lake for a year. So i have about 800 pounds of hidden wieght in my boat add 8 people and i got a good solid 2000 pounds of ballast on a 1988 malibu skier and by the looks of your pics my boats design is very similar to yours so you can do it my friend i have full faith in you. plus even though i have a crappy boat and not so special wake i rode hard and now am one of the best and most respected riders out there on my lake so you can do it man i have faith in you.
(yeah just a little rags to ritches story for you all but seriously i am still in the rags just a better rider... Laughing

Thanks for the kind words, we ride as hard as we can too. I always like to see people come out with their $40k+ boats and we are riding just as hard as them if not harder. Sometimes we even are getting more air then them. Here is a pic of me before the extension, i got about double that when we first went out with the extension and ate hard, so now im kinda being a wuss and not going for any hieght just distance. Its hard to do both...

CodyB4C, like k-fed said, older malibus have so much potential. A tower and a lot of weight and you will have an awesome wake. And to get a killer wake add a wedge. my uncles 93 sunsetter wake is great with the wedge he added.

yeah man seriously i have the worst 1988 malibu ever with little wake enhancments and a terrible tower but that boat has a nice wake if you tinker with it seriously as jensen said add a fat sack or two and maybe a wedge ride hard and you can laugh at those people on your lake with $40k+ boats cause A. you will be better then them and B. still have about 30K more then them in the bank. (Please note this is not a personal attack on you people with good boats i am just jealous. Wink

Just got back and we brought the rope into 65ft. Cleared the wake to flats a bunch of times!!! I even tryed a few hs bs 180's I was getting across but keep letting go of the handle finally I held on my last try but spun out. I'll get them next time... Did a few surface 180's and rided switch a little bit, I really need to work on my ts w2w. I'll probably work on them tomorrow and land that hs 180. I cant wait to get some weight in the boat!!!

way to go man and a simple way to add weight with zero cost is go to your local tire store and just ask for the lead they use to balance tires with...i assure you they will offer about 1000 pounds in lead if you bring bags to take it away in cause they dont want or need it and have tons of these little lead rods.
