back flip

The other day I was having a killer session out on the lake and my mom gets freaked out with me trying things so my brother told me to try a flip RIGHT infront of the dock so I said screw it and do it. I just threw it up and something kinda right happened. [I ride standard] I tried it later but when i'm rotating down the front of the board is sticking way out and I dont know if while i'm in air i'm fading and the board is just getting wierd or what? I landed it though on my 4th try but it was really rough and my dad actually thought I didnt land it at first.

Help!

well i ride un-standard so i really cant help.

Have you tried holding the handle with one palm facing down and one facing up?

Or perhaps use a stretchier rope

make sure your bindings are in the inner most holes, you want your heels to almost be touching

IndyColt42, check out the trick tips section of this website and figure out what kind of "backflip" you are trying. There is no such trick named backflip in wakeboarding. There is a backroll and a tantrum. Unless you get a video it's hard for us to diagnose it anyway.
