I justed really started wakeboarding about 5 weeks ago and these videos accurately depict where I am at.. I am fall on W2W jumps about 95% of the time and when I do land, I see now watching the videos that I don't get that much air.. Can ya'll please help me.. I love wakeboarding but I'm starting to get frustrated (not to mention SORE) about the falling situation.. What do I need to be doing that I'm not? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

You cut too hard at first. Start to drift in and slowly build your cut you want the hardest cut at the wake. Watch your video again your spray is huge at the beginning of your cut but at the wake there is no spray this should be opposite. Also don't cut out as far only cut out about 10' trust me this is enough to clear the wake but it will teach you to load the line correctly. Nice jump on the toeside. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em... |

| Part of it is you cut like vette74, said, and it also looks like your are absorbing the wake with your knees. You need to be standing tall at the wake so that the wake pops you up in the air. |

Good advice so far, I completely agree on the cutting advice you're getting. I had "forgotten" how to w2w starting this year, but figured it out over the holiday weekend. I thought I was edging hard to the wake but was hardly edging at all and then was letting off as I approached the wake. Took some video to figure it out, so keep taping yourself-it is the best way to improve that I have found so far. You'll get to see what you're doing while knowing what is in your head when you are back there behind the boat.
To me, your biggest problem in landing your jumps is that you are not holding the rope in the right position. You hold it like a water skier, with arms straight out. You should put the handle on your lead hip and never move it. The way you are doing it is pulling you forward and causing you to lose your balance when you hit the water.
Also, what type of rope are you using (couldn't tell from the vid)? A non-stretch rope can help if you aren't using one. A stretching or low-stretch ski rope can pull you forward in the air as it recoils.
Good luck, and keep taping yourself! _________________

| I watched your videos and what it looks like is you are getting pulled out of your edging postition when you do your jump.keep it and itll stop your faceplants. |
