I have been trying backrolls and i just cant seem to get the take off right. i understand completely about progressive edge and standing tall ect ect. this is how it is most of the time i leave the wake and either go mexi or the rope goes really slack.
when i come in i get the pop but all i can remember on the way in is looking at the wake trying to think about leaving it then looking in direction of travel. in all honesty i dont see a thing, as in the water as i come round, only a sliding landing on ce i hit the water. yes im getting all the way round but it doesnt feel right, i would have thought the line would feel tight all the way around. cutting through the wakes on edge is a bit misleading?

ok lets start at the begining where should my eyes be as i hit the base of the wake? more on the back foot or the front? if i have more trouble should i just take it to revert or try it switch.

thanks Shocked

First of all, you shouldn't be looking at your feet at all. Cut in to the wake progressively (a little harder as you get closer) and edge all the way through the wake - a lot of first time backrollers will level out right before they hit - so don't. On your cut in, look at the wake and spot where you want to hit it. Keep your handle low and your elbows bent to maintain a center of gravity balance. Once you have approached the wake, use it to initiate your spin, just think about shifting your weight to the tail of your heelside edge.

Just watch this how-to from Waketrix and you'll be stomping them next time you go out.

i have that waketrix dvd, i have looked and compared them. thing i notice is take off and approach looks good but when completely upside down i pause the tape and my board is pointing at the bank in the direction of travel, or maybe between the boat and the bank. when i freeze frame a boat shot on waketrix the board is pointing towards the boat more. any ideas??? Neutral i m not sure how to upload but maybe i can get someone to do some stills.
