you can choose that.. it's to your own preference... I'm riding with the fins at the moment, but I'm going to get them of the day after tomorrow...

just try and see what feels best..

If your going to ride fins you might as well put them all on so you track while you start to learn switch. I ride with all my fins but my LF Shane has 4 molded in centers and 4 optionals out near the edge of the board that are pretty small.

yah once you start learning to ride switch, that will probably affect how the board feels and rides. I started riding last year and took my fins off the week after i got my board last year, liked the feel better, and knew it would help me in the long run. But your board may be different than mine.

I do agree with IrideLITE... You will enjoy riding much more if you start good.. You really should learn those two, cause they're pretty handy afterwards..

have fun with it...

You NEED to learn how to ride switch to progress. You should learn to ride switch as fast as possible. espicially when you first start.

Yep, when you start learning how to ride switch, you may have a few faceplants when doing the 180 to get it going. Atleast thats how it happens for me. I am still learning to ride revert as well. Still have to pick up where i left off last year...2nd time out only this year.

It may take a while to ride revert...just keep at it. Good Luck

After getting up and learning how to ride I immediately tried surface 180's (with fins). I got to where I could do them but had face plants here and there. It was hard to break the board loose with the fins. I removed the fins and never looked back, surface 180's are much easier, and the board is more forgiving. It was a little slippery at first but got comfortable quickly. Riding switch about 1/3 of the time. This is my first season.

I need to work on my switch, I just started riding like a month ago, but I haven't even thought about riding witch. The fins I have in my current board are huge and the board is imposible to slide into a 180.

I am just going to wait to get my new board next week and see how it goes without the fins.

This thread gave me plenty of useful info

thanks
