At least I think that's what I'm trying. Anyway let me start by saying I am very backflip inclined. I can do them off dry land just fine. I can do them running up trees and pressing back into backflips.. same with brick walls. I do backflips off of picnic tables and all other sorts of things. That said.. I cant seem to get the same rotation when I hold onto a handle
Lets put it this way, I ride regular and cut ts at the wake super hard starting from the left side. If I charge the wake and let go of the handle, when I get to the wake and press up and off of it, I can rotate a flip and get board to hit water (a full rotation.. but wheres the handle?).
Now lets try the same thing with the handle. I go for the same deal with the handle and as soon as I press off of the wake.. I go NOWHERE. I usually rotate about onto my back.. maybe as far as my head and then crash and burn. I just feel like I cant rotate with a handle in my hand.
Does this make sense? has anyone else experienced this? I would love to throw an invert down this season sometime and I feel like this is the most natural way that relates to a dry land "backflip". Let me know any advice.

| You need to go for a tantrum. TSBR is not exactly the easiest first invert. Tantrtum is most like a straight backflip HS. |

| Yea he is right, a tantrum is most like a backflip on a trampoline, so it may be eaiser for you. |

try letting go with your back hand (right if regular). It should help you keep your momentum up to rotate all the way through the invert. _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

I guess I always thought the tantrum would be trickier because you would have to get the whole "let the wake trip you into it thing going on". However with the ts, you are basically running at a ramp and using the curvature to start your rotation. In any case I actually think the tantrum may be better seeing as how I dont really know how to pop ts very well which may very well be my problem in itself. At least with the tantrum I would be cutting hs which is much more familiar. If I EVER get any info back on the boats im interested in on this site I'll be riding in no time and get some footage out. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

| The whole "trip" thing with the tantrum is waaaay overstated. The wake doesn't really trip you, it just kind of feels like it when you throw it. You simply cut in heelside, switch edges to your toes, square up your shoulders and do a backflip. you actually initiate it. It's not like you switch edges, then wait for the wake to "trip" you backwards. If the wake actually "tripped" you, you'd fall straight back and never catch any air. |
