Hello all! My name is Travis and I am new to wakeboarding. I have an old 1983 Bayliner 1950BR and was looking to put a tower on it. I started looking around different forums to see what everyone was using and came across a post here talking about building your own tower. So I researched different styles of towers and started designing my own. Once I got started it took me about 3 afternoons to build and I was able to build it for under $200! I have been able to take it out once so far and it was solid! I am a big guy, 6 3 and 280. I still need to build the wakeboard racks and paint it when I get some time. Here are some pictures of it.

Nice job! Me and my dad were talking about making one...but we thought it would be really hard and might damage the boat..

Wakeboarding=Life, I wanted to mount it to the most sturdy part of the boat and those far back point seemed to be the most sturdy. I also thought that it would look cool. I think that it does.

Wakebrad, Yeah, I had most of the tools already. The hard part was trying to figure out everything that I would need and how to put it all together.

I have had some interest around here for me to make towers for other people so I think I am going to give it a shot. For this one I used straight pieces and 90degree angle pieces and welded them together with a custom insert to add extra strength at the weld points. I have been looking into a couple of tools that would really help, like a tube bender, and I think I am going to make the investment and give it a go.

Wakeboarder3780, Yeah, I know. It was late and dark when we got back. I didnt lower the trailer enough.
