I've noticed the difference in the description of these ropes as low versus non stretch. I'm assuming they are accurate and mean that low stretch ropes aren't truly non stretch and will still give a little.

The question I ask is, does it really make a difference? I'm pretty sure I've been riding on the cheaper ropes my whole life. Wanted to know if I'm missing anything.

Looking to buy one online tonight so fast responses would be nice Smile

Never used a low-stretch rope, but I have used a regular ski rope and a Spectra non-stretch rope and the difference is night and day. Last season we lost our Spectra line in the lake and as an emergency had to use the ski rope in its place. It was no fun at all. I'd recommend going with a true non-stretch line of either Spectra or Dyneema - you won't regret it.

Red57Bird, exactly. In the air even the low stretch will probably pull you forward and off axis.

Wakeboarder3780, I really wouldn't waste my money on a "low stretch" rope, it completely defeats the point.

I would say I'm intermediate. 360s are my biggest trick. Land them once in a while.

If anyone has some cheaper suggestions for rope I'm definitely willing to listen.

I have been looking at this rope for sheer affordability

http://www.airhead.com/2008/ahwr2.php

The description says "no stretch" but its extremely cheap (can find them shipped for 40 bucks)

does anyone have anything against this rope / handle combo? If so could you guys please post a couple of the more affordable good quality ropes?

Thanks a bunch Smile

Here is another option that boasts spectra line for about 75.. About double the price of the first line listed. Is this line a good enough line to truly have no stretch (or should i say .5%) Wink

yeah, you can find un-jacketed spectra lines for 40 or 50 bucks online if you look hard enough. Much better than low stretch.

I ended up buying the cheaper dyneema line (the orange one) I will let you know if I see any difference between it and the cheaper lines i've been using once it comes around.
