Got my one free issue of WBM today, and its awesome. Just a lot of ads...but anyways. THe part I loved about it was the trick tips and stuff. But in the trevor hansen one it saidyou should really learn to do the 180s.

But here is where I am confused.
"HS FS 180"
"Start in the middle of the wakes and edge out slowly toward the wake on your heels. Pop off the top of the wake, and...."

There is where I get confused. If I were to edge out HS...wouldn't I turn from the to where I would be leanin toward my toes...? And the TS FS 180 is the same, just on your toes.

Thanks! really pumped to get out and try this.

im not really sure what your asking? but yes a hs fs 180 will start on your heels and end on your toes, or if your right foot back you will end left foot back, and toeside if the opposite, you will come in on your toes and land on your heels. Frontside means that you can do these spins without passing the handle, just move your lower body

IrideLITE, they want you to start out small, by doing inside out 180's... "start out in the middle of the wakes..."

but my first 180's were ollies, then one-wake, and then wake to wake. I don't really like doing inside out jumps and i dont think they're all that necessary..

and if you're not comfortable with ollies, then just go for the one wake 180's (very small cuts about 3-5 feet out) try landing 3 in a row before you take a harder cut and repeat this process until you're goin wake to wake!!!

The HS or TS part of the name is for which wake you are jumping so for a HS FS 180 you would edge out TS and cut back HS to go for the 180. I think that answers the question

Wait...now I'm confused...it says you start in the middle of the wake...for them. So does that mean for a HS FS 180 I would edge TS and pop off wake? I think im learnin...

Wakeboarding=Life is still talking about inside out i believe. If you are going to take Blindside_137 advice disregard what your first post said or Wakeboarding=Life.

Ya, I know he was talkin bout inside outting it. I will probably try both of them. But if I edge out HS...its actually called a TS trick?

IrideLITE, you're being told to do an inside out 180, starting inside the wake and edging out. lets say you ride regular (left foot forward) you will start between the wakes and edge on your heels (HS) to the port side wake (left wake) and pop off of that to do a heelside 180.

for a one wake or wake to wake 180, you will edge away from the starboard side wake (right wake, assuming you ride regular still...) edge away TS, on your toes, and then cut back towards the wake heelside.

hope that has ended your confusion!

whatever edge you are on when you hit the wake determines whether the trick is HS or TS.

For a heelside 360, you edge away from the wakes on your toes, but when you cut back and pop off the wake to do the trick, you're on your heels, thus, a heelside (hs) 360

IrideLITE, that's what these forums are for! I'm no fan of skateboarding either and don't ever have a chance to snowboard where i live...

now get out there and land some 180s!
