I have hs and ts backrolls, hs frontside 3s every now and then and 180s ts and hs.
Should i do a ts front roll or just go for a scarecrow.
Any thoughts would be helpfull.

Go for the TS FR, and see how you rotate. If you find yourself coming round to revert, then just load the back arm as you come into it, and you will easily get the crow if my experience was anything to go by. I'm told it is better for your crows to get the TS FR first, since you get a more 'over the top' rotation. But for me a crow rotation was much easier.

I went wakeboarding yesterday and landed a frontroll but it was ugly. no pop and barely got it around. Slid on my butt for a little bit and stood up.
Do you have to trip it like you do a tantrum?

kent2010, you prob. just left the wake to early. Make sure your standing tall and ride all the way up the wake then flip. You should fell the difference. Rotate all the way around and land on your toes cuttin out. That way you wont fall on your butt

exactly. wait for the pop off the wake then throw the front roll

also while in the air try to pull the handle behind your lead hip, this makes riding away easier.

the ones you think you slightly over rotate are the ones you stick the best

scarecrow seems easier/more natural for me. then again i have yet to try a FR but again it just doesnt feel as natural to me, but i landed my first crow on my 15th attempt probably and i dont even have a consistent ts wake to wake jump so landed on my heels is a lot easier for me too

Scarecrows are the easier trick for me too, but I would recommend learning frontrolls first. Try learning things in order, don't skip around if that makes any sense. (for example, learn ts wake jumps, then ts 180s and frontrolls, then scarecrow, then crowmobe) For frontrolls it also helps to kick your heels towards your butt during the last part of the rotation. This will keep you from under rotating as much.
