Thought I would post up my review of Kicker's KMT6 tower speakers I did for our website. Check out the rest of the site as well. We are putting on a contest/demo in late June. Tell us what you think.

I did some product testing here at the office a few weeks ago. I pitched these against Monster Tower single bullets with Wetsounds drivers, Monster single bullets with Kicker KM 6.5" marine drivers and a pair of Wetsounds Pro 80's. All powered by the same uber high quality amp with the same signal (with tweaking I'm sure each speaker could be optimised further but for our like-for-like testing we wanted to keep it uniform).
In comparison to other all in one systems like the bazooka tubes and Infinity tower system - These blow them all away. There is no competition at all so right away we can strike them off the list.
All speakers performed well over all but The Wetsounds 6.5 drivers gave the nicest sound quality whilst the Kicker KMT6 were the true surprise of the day! When compared to the Wetsounds Pro 80's... sure they weren't quite as good but at 25% of the price they were far far better than the price tag would suggest. The Pro 80's obviously were the winners but that comes at a price.
Wet sounds are the real bench mark these days IMO, but if you don't have the kind of scrilla laying around you absolutely cannot do any better than the KMT6's in my experience - Incredible value for money by a very long way. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

| The one thing that turns me off about the kickers is the plastic, but I may end up picking up a set, because they cost little to nothing (at least in comparison to 850$ pairs) for big sound. |

hco, We have toyed with the idea of stripping them down and painting them. You could sand them flat, prime the, colour code them to your boat and lacquer them for like $50 I'm sure. Oila! Custom Cans! _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

I actually liked them being made of ABS because they will be lighter. Lifting a tower with Wetsounds' 3-some takes some work. They don't really look bad being plastic either. Like Brit Rider said, I'm sure you could prep and paint them for a custom look. There is even companies that will chrome plastic now. It's some kind of spray on application.
Thanks for the cudos... _________________ Jason

A remote bass control does nothing but boost the lower frequencies (probably selectable on the amp) and creates a shitload of distortion. You could use it, but a very little amount. |

| Anyone have any suggestions on an amp? How much do each of these weigh? |

| Most amps from reputable companies are good, just stay away from the really really cheap & junky e-bay ones that offer high numbers for low prices. I would say stay with kicker, alpine, clarion, zapco, infinity, jl, and a couple other that I am forgetting off the top of my head (tons of very high end ones, but the ones listed should be in your price range). With audio it is always worth it to spned the extra money so you don't end up going back and re-doing it once you want more from your system. I would say on average a 300/2 amp will weigh anywhere from 5-8 lbs. |

I have two liquid audio tower speaker cans, 6 1/2" and each can probably weighs about 3.5-4.5 lbs.
EDIT- when the clamps are attached and when the speakers are inside. |

Does anyone have a full picture of the back of this set? The speaker side is ugly as can be, but that price is so nice. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News |
