I am pretty new at wakeboarding and i'm just learning how to jump.. i'm starting with hs w2w because that's what feels most comfortable.. my problem is that as soon as i take off, i feel like i get yanked forward almost immediately and i fall every time.. is this a common problem and what is the solution? i'm feeling a pretty good pop off the wake and i'm actually clearing the wake and sometimes landing a little into the flats.. the only problem is that i ALWAYS land on my face.. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

p.s. i just built a pylon that i will be installing this week and trying out this weekend.. so far i've just been tying off to the boat.. will the installation of the pylon help this problem that i'm having?

What kind of rope are you using? A regular ski rope could do this because of the amount stretch it has to it. If you're using a wake rope, then I'd post a vid.

I had this problem last year when I started too. Pull the rope into your hip when you take off. that will help with the getting pulled forward.

i'm using a rope designed for wakeboarding.. it's like a 3 section rope i think.. i think i'm losing my form going off the wake... i will try pulling the handle to my hip on takeoff.. thanks for the replies!

rope to hip as soon as you leave the wake, ie even when the tail is still in it.
and consitrate on landing on edge, ie leaning back against the rope, and the board staying crooked to the boat when you are in the air and land. this will help keep your board from getting behind you. ie "yanked forward" feeling
think of the feeling of carving or sitting in a chair.

Ya if you're using the right rope I'd say that you need to position it on your hip better. Good tip.

Yep, keep the handle at your lead hip and lean back a bit off the wake. It just takes practice.
