I've noticed some folks indicating that they are getiing smaller boards as they improve... is that typical? Is it opposite of skiing and snowboarding where the better you are the longer your board/skis are?

ive never heard of this. most pros go to a larger board as the board skills improve. softer landings and bigger pop.

I think its kind of a learning curve thing

Its easier to ride a bigger board when you dont know what your doing because you have more surface area to keep you up

but once you get on a board thats too big you sacrifice movement, and if you go to small you sac landings/pop
