I got a call last night from someone working at Joystick who said the Roll Cage was being recalled due to some tower failures this past weekend. Did anyone else get this call?

That's really suprising to me. There are many of the Mini Towers that have .25" steel quick pins which is all that holds the front legs in. The Joystick design if I remember correctly has 3/8" stainless cap screws for the front legs which should be much stronger. This is the "OMG" failure point for a tower if this is the failure point. See http://www.joystickpylons.com/Roll-Cage.htm vs http://www.gatortuff.com/009.jpg.
Please do post updates on this, especially what and where the problem was.

The person I talked to said that the front legs failed. He wanted me to see if I had an extra safety bolt on the lower portion of the front leg. I didn't see one on my tower, so he said they would send me two new front legs. He also said that I shouldn't use it until I recieved the new parts.

Oh yea, it also sounded like it's a new problem. I just got my rollcage a few weeks ago, and I think it only affects some of them. Otherwise they probably would have just sent me a new one, rather than asking me questions about wether I had a second safety bolt or not.
