What are some tips when trying to jump for the first time?
Inside and outside of wake? |

That turned out to be a pretty good thread...it helped me a lot. Also if you search through here you will find quite a few threads on the subject that should be helpful.
When I "started" jumping I only jumped slow from the outside into the wake or inside out...after several times doing that I was trying to jump the entire wake. |

No problem....if you were closer I'd take you up on your pull offer and show ya a few things I learned riding last year. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

My tips...
1. Start with inside out, then outside in, then wake to wake
2. Be sure to keep the rope close to your body and your weight leaned away from the boat, against the rope.
3. Even on small jumps, when you land allow your legs to bend. You will need to get used to absorbing the impact.
4. Even on small jumps, be sure you are not "unwinding" in the air. You need to keep your board going across the wake and land on edge.
IMHO #4 is what breaks down when young riders try to take it from 1 wake to 2 wakes. The extra line tension required causes more pressure on the hands. If you pull with both arms straight, you will rotate into the "waterski" position in the air, and land prone to a faceplant. |

dude, keep it up and get over that wake. If you can, get a hold of "Detention" and let Shawn Murray show you how its done. _________________ GET YOUR DAILY DOSE!

Cool! I'm working on mine, as well. Just got out for the first time last weekend and getting ready to head out today. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |
