Is that Paint Shop Pro?

Personally, you have to come to my house to see my work. Or folks I've sold to.

Computer generated generally is not considered art.

Um, I don't think thats computer generated. And even if it was, it could still be considered art.

Could be, I'd define it more as graphics. Looks like it came from a photo.

It's a good job, don't get me wrong. The motion isn't quite three point, but it has good dynamics. Leaves you looking at the dark splotch under the chin though. Don't know if that's what he was going for or not.

Very reminiscent of the old Jimmy Hendricks prints.

I'm an artist most of my stuff is graphic design now. I have some stuff from previous years mostly nude figure drawings, Don't know if I can post those or not. maybe Ill see if i can get away with it.
If you want to see some good stuff check out bellefree.com, and ledheavy.com or shaneglines has a forum on his page there is some really good stuff on those mostly girls.

I'm an artist, but I don't have a way to post any of my work. My favorite kind of art is black and white with an ebony pencil.

Ah, much better then. Always good to see folks actually putting pen to paper rather than using the keyboard or mouse.

OK, here is the last decent painting I did. It's a crappy photo of it though, and I apologize ahead of time if it ends up being friggin huge. Don't have p-shop on this computer so I'm not sure how to resize it.

i'm more into pottery and that kinda stuff than painting and drawings. the thing is that i don't have a wheel or a kiln. at our school we have a really good pottery class, but now that i'm out, i'm too poor to get one and i dont' have the time. i've done water colours and accrylics b4, but i didn't enjoy them as much.

I produce some of my best works with nothing but a piece of paper and an ebony pencil. It's cheap and I really enjoy it.

i dont understand why some ppl only consider art to be (paint, pencil, etc). In my opinion it takes just as much talent to 3d-model anything as it does to paint or draw. I draw comic books as a side hobby and love to paint just as much as the next artist, but I would never say that a piece that was done in photoshop (or something comparable) is NOT art. I think art is just an expression of self....so if that means you use mediums like pencil or paint....or a mouse and keyboard.....i would call it art. It just really irritates me when people look down on digital art, because it is (in my opinion) a completely viable art form.

I think we're taking this a little too deep. It's plain and simple: anything you create yourself can be considered art.

I pretty much suck, but art is simply a way of expressing yourself, in some form or another, so you can't say something is or isn't 'art.'

I made this in photoshop today, using the penciltool only (exept the two words on the board).
Keep posting, it would be nice to have a thread with graphics made by the users on the forum for inspiration and critics/comments.

That's pretty cool M. I'm not coordinated enough to type, yet alone use a the pencil tool on the computer.
Beauty as well as art is in the eye of the beholder.

Photoshop is fine, and cna be considered art.

Retouching a photograph on photoshop isn't art. Paint by numbers isn't art either.

It can look great, but I still don't consider it art.

Hence, prior to knowing it was a canvas work, I suspected the first example.

Leggester as far as retouching photos thats an area that is a "may or may not be" area...if its an OLD OLD OLD photo from like when your great grandparents were teenagers...and you had to retouch that and fix it up...that IS an art.

and as far as paint by numbers is concerned...hey we all started somewhere right?

in general i think ppl need to be a little more open minded to new mediums to consider "ART" ... I agree with Josh R art is a way of expressing yourself in one way or another...and if its a paint by numbers of your mom Shocked thats fine too....(and no that wasn't a your mom joke)

Well I got my portfolio at home with a bunch of my art work. I was an Art Major for 1 semester. While in High school, I also was invited by the Art institue of Houston to critique my portfolio. My main medium's were Oils, Prisma colors, chalk, pen and ink, and pencils. Never tried Computer art though. But I will take some pics of my art work sometime and post em.
