Ok so a little about me, I am an avid Snowboarder, it basically runs my life. So the of season is here and I am bored as hell, I am looking for a sport to keep me active in the of season. Wake boarding looks really cool and something that I see myself doing. The issue is that I do not have enough money to either buy a boat or even rent one. But luckily enough there is a cable park near my house, I know it's not the same as a boat, but it's better than nothing at all.
I am 141lbs and 5'10 I am not sure if stats are important in wake boarding, in snowboarding they are very important. I am looking into buying my own board, I was wondering what are some respectable brands in wake boards and what size board should I get.
A friend of mine told me that I snowboarding and wake boarding are very similar so I guess I might be able to pick it up pretty quick. I think I would want to buy a intermediate kind of board, since a beginner one usually has limitations as you grow into it.
Money is a big issue as I spent most of my money snowboarding this season, so I am looking for a good brand in wake boards that is reasonably priced.
In conclusion: what size board should I get and what brands are respectable in this industry?
Thanks for the help, I truly appreciate it. |

size - something in the 135-136cm range will be fine for your skinny ass. good lord son - eat a couple o' burgers!
what type? USED. you are going to be so new that shape doesn't matter. especially on a cable. get a cwb, liquid force, hyperlite, ronix, or obrien....but get a used one. you're only going to use it for 1 season until you get an idea of what you want anyway. |

Thanks a lot for the help, today I tried wake boarding in the cable and I think I did pretty good at it for being my first time. JT09 thanks for the help, thats what some guys said they claim 135 to 137 just in case I gain some weight.
I know I need to gain some weight, I am working on that as we speak. I think I might go with what ever cheap set I find for now.
I still need to work out the cable system, when the pulleys turn it's screwing me over and I loose balance and fall. But over all I love it, almost as good as snowboarding , I shouldn't be saying that in this forum.
Well thanks for the help again, I will be posting some more here since the snowboarding forum is going into off season. |
