|
|
Alright, so my best bud from college just moved away and there goes my weekend getaway on his 07 mastercraft. right now I'm getting a custom tower thrown on my 98 stingray. obviously this isn't a ski boat by any means, but with the right speed and trim, I've actually gotten some decent wakes (not washed) with the back being loaded.
First off, i NEED more wake lol, what type/size of fatsacs should I use in the boat? the weight/person limit is around 1700/8ppl if i remember correctly.
Secondly, i NEED the speakers for the rack. it's what makes riding all that more fun. I've been lurking here for a few days on some of you have done (and dam, I'm very impressed), but I'm looking for a solution that won't have to be upgraded anytime soon (doing it right the first time), but also keeping price in mind. Wetsounds is by far what I've read the best, but it's out of my price rang unfortunately. And by upgrading, I'm *really* wanting to get 4 installed cause 2 looks kinda flimsy, but they're pricy suckers when you get in that range.
I've liked the monster tower double/single barrels with the polks (I have a JL 300/4 sitting here i could use) and even the infinity 6000's, but those look so boring to me. any realistic suggestions?
thank for ALL of your help, trust me i've been doing my searches left and right and you guys already led me in a good direction - thanks!

I didn't do tower speakers for several reasons, but when considering them, I kept a close eye on ebay. Many times the Kickers can be found pretty cheap. Many companies are making enclosures, then loading them with all kinds of speakers.
You very seldom will find wetsounds on ebay, that should tell you something about the product. If you do find them, they go for MSRP used! _________________ http://www.youtube.com/greasemonkeytv |

I went with Polk mmc650 and they sound awesome. i could not ask for a better speaker for the price. I got them from Liquid Audio. Pretty decent guy to work with. I am happy with their service. He also has some pretty decent cans. I would suggest to email him for prices then look at his ebay auctions.

As far as sacs, we have Launch pad. We've had them for 3 years now and no problems. Alot of guys have suggested the Fly high line, but i think they are all the same if not abused.
Good luck |

pikemarc,
For the fatsacs, i've used flyhigh and loved them. their pump (tsunami) is a little annoying, you have to prime it, and then if the hose gets twisted you have to reprime it... but once you get it figured it out its definitely the fastest pump. I don't know what kind of engine you have in the stringray but we totally ignore the weight ratings in our boats, we normally run about 1000lbs over it with no problem (watch those rouge waves though, they can swamp the boat pretty easily). _________________ ---- Will

Clarion marine makes pretty sick speakers... and they're basically submergeable.... if you put them in roswell cans the set would have some potential.. |
