|
|
Hello all,
I just bought a new boat and I want to insall a tower, tower speaker(Im thinking wetbox with 4 speakers), and 4 or 5 tower lights. I need someone elses opinion on weather I should run the wire inside the tower tubing or just run them outside and ziptie them to the tubing. I don't even know were to begin if I decide to run them inside. I want it took look clean but I don't want to ruin 2K worth of equipment so it looks nice. So if you could help at all with running the wire inside the tower tubing that would be excellent. I was looking to put the amp inside the storage area in front of the driver side console that way I have easy access to it and it is right next to the back of the cd player. Any help at all would be great(esspecially on were and how to run the wire so it looks streamline). Oh yea, any recomendations on cheap amps(at least 600 watt or bigger)? And cheap lights? God I hope anyone can help so I dont mess this whole thing up!!!!!!!!!! |

You NEED to run it inside the tower tubing or your install will look like junk - especially with that many wires!
What tower do you have? You'll want to run speaker wire down the port side right to the amp (positioned in the front passenger locker is ideal ), run power down the starboard side to the dash where you will need to throw a relay into the circuit then ideally run the relay off a spare acc switch on the dash or the nav light switch. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Is that ordered through Bullet Lines? What colour were you after.. all that stuffs made in China so you get whatever colours they have in stock.
Mostly they come polished raw aluminium... great tower but not good for salt water use.
With that tower you simply want to drill some 10mm holes and run the wiring through the tube. dress the holes with rubber grommets from your local hardware store and out black cable tidy on any exposed wire - it'll look nice and tidy this way. when the cabling get to your deck you want to use something like some Neutrik Speakon
connectors (google this) they can be bought cheaply and work well. this'll give you a water proof seal to the deck and allow you to remove the tower for winter etc... _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Yes it is ordered throught Bullet Lines, Im not shure what color yet but if at all possible I want to stay away from polished aluminiun. My boat is has a white hull and has black accents, so I was thinking maybe a black tower? I called the # on the web site a few times but I kept getting someone who could hardly speak english and I ask about the color options were available, she said red, blue, green, yellow, silver, white, orange, polished black and sandblasted black so I went with the sandblasted. Then I got an email back saying they were discontinuing black. WHO DOES THAT !!!!! Oh yea, I checked out that Neutrick Speakon, it looks like what I need so thank you for that. You seem to know your stuff, did you pull off a project like this yourself? If you did do you have any pic so I can see how yours turned out? Im finally starting to get somewhere with this project! If im lucky, it might be done by summer !!!! |
