Just ordered today!! Can't wait to get it and play.
It comes with a EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. That should keep me going long enough to save up for my next lens.
So, what should I be in the market for now? I am just getting the camera body/lens and 2GB memory card.
For lenses, I would like something that is good for shooting wakeboarding/wakeskating from the boat and will also probably try out some landscape and wildlife type stuff with it.

I've been very happy with my Tamron 28-300 until I broke it. Great range and could make some sick wake boarding shots.

My canon 18-55 has been great as well. Been doing a lot of panos with it, indoor and out. Mostly 360(not connected).

A remote would be a good buy, and I went for the wireless for that.

edrex, yes it would not be a good idea to lay the lens sideways on any surface it can roll off of.

A 4 foot fall on concrete messed up the auto focus. Manual works fine but I'm sending it back for repair.

Good tripod and remote shutter release.

What are the uses of a remote shutter release?

edrex, exposures longer than 30 seconds and you wont jiggle the camera when you depress the shutter button.

Those two things would also be very high on my list. (tripod/ remote)

For lenses the 70-200 F/4L is popular for wakeboarding. I really like my 17-40 F4/L for landscape stuff too, but you also might consider some EF-S lenses as well.

NEVER! We live in America...there is no such thing as personal responsibility here!

Got it this afternoon and been playing around with it for a bit. One thing that is bugging me is that I can't seem to take burst shots. I'm sure its just me doing something wrong, but I can't find anything in the manual about it or any settings in the camera that would activate a burst mode. Anyone know Canons that can help?
Thanks,
ed.

Damon, Yeah! I had been trying different things for like 20 minutes and searching through the manual for anything about it. Right after I posted that I started playing with the top buttons and when I hit the AF mode button the menu came up with the one shot, high speed burst, low speed burst, etc settings. Embarassed

Oh well, there is going to be a lot of dumb questions about this camera before I am done! Laughing
