I went to Haiti a few weeks ago for a missions trip. We put a second floor onto a school in Cabaret, about an hours' drive (50-60 KM) north of Port-au-Prince. Definitely a worth-while experience, and I've decided to go again in June (if I can scrounge together the money), and after that make yearly trips.

Anyways, while I was there I shot video of the city life, as seen from the bus we were driving. The shakiness of the video will give you some idea of how the roads are in Haiti. Other than that, it's quite self explanatory. Give me some feedback!

If you don't have time to watch both, watch the second part instead. About a minute in you'll see a standard Haitian "park", and there's quite a bit of footage of the water supply system and how dirty it is.

Are the "aquaducts" for thier drinking water supply? Shocked

Drinking water, bathing water, laundry water, Shi&tting water (NOT kidding - we saw a few haitians we were working with squatting over the water that ran through our compound) ..... their only water source.

The aquaduct was diverted into most yards too. Here's a picture from our worksite of the water supply coming through here:

We built a damn so we had water for our concrete.

The place we stayed had well water which we used for showers. Other than that, everything else was bottled water.
