My annual question when spring starts coming around: Who's going riding around Nor*Cal, and when? We have a string of 70 degree days coming up, so it looks inviting, but the water is still very cold. I know that the Sac river is somewhat warmer right now than Folsom Lake, but what about places like New Hogan and Berryessa?

Board2die, my buddy rode at Hogan last weekend. Said it was flippin cold.

Sac River: current, murk, crud/debris in water.
Folsom: mud puddle

I'd ride in the dirty D, Hogan, Berryessa, or somewhere not so prone to low water or debris. Tis the season for bent propellers.

I'll probably be riding on Sunday. Cold weather means the idiots are at Heavenly or Northstar and not the Delta.

Hhmmm, I've done the most damage to my boat at the delta and Berryessa. In fact this time of season scares me the most at those places, or any body of water for really. Both K-dub and Scott can attest to the carnage that has been afflicted on my boat by logs. Especially in the delta. Of course, this a numbers game because I spend almost all my time on these two places Laughing

Yeah, the Delta is pretty much the worst as far as debris is concerned! Laughing

RUSSIAN, really? I've had pretty much the opposite experience. Seen the most carnage at the Sierra runoff lakes (Oroville, Folcean, Melones, etc) and the Sacto River minefield. I guess that crap in the Sacto has to go somewhere though. Laughing

In my defense, I haven't really had much for problems in the dirty D because when I am in the Dirty D in the winter I am usually in the cabin cruiser with a much deeper draft.

I was out the weekend before last and am going this Saturday. Both times to Oroville. Air temp last time was 65 and water was 45 so it passed the 100 degree rule.

Last time I was out it passed the 80 degree rule. But just barely. Not that it matters much, because the added benefit there is that my beer didn't need to sit in a cooler to stay cold.

I know when I tell the story, we caught air Laughing Laughing And I think it was the size of a school bus

Chavez, After thinking about, Berryessa actually rarely has many logs. When there is a ton of rain like this year and the water comes way up it flushes a bunch into the lake, but thats kinda rare
