The problem you're going to have is that it is too low to the ground. When it sits in the water it's going to be 6 inches above it. When you have a good sized person sliding across it (and very little buoyancy from the styrofoam), combined with the bend it will have in the middle, there's a decent chance you could end up sliding under water.

The other problem you have is that because the rail is only a few inches higher than the base, if you're not perfectly square coming off, you're going to catch an edge on that styrofoam.

I would strongly recommend you move those styrofoam pieces closer to the middle (you don't need them all the way at the ends and this will help with bending) and raise the rail off the styrofoam at least 6 inches to a foot.

Floating sliders are tricky. I am not sure if that styrofoam is enough for good support or if it will be unstable. Just by looking at it, I'd guess it would be unstable. You probably either need bigger pieces or more of them.

it will have tweaking done to it before hit, and we plan on putting more styrofoam in the middle

the stryofoam is fine, we use it for lots of thing and its plently stable

...and people wonder why they get hassled for putting slider in public lakes. You let just anybody put one in and sooner or later you will get stuff like this.
