Hey-

Havent posted in a while but thought this was pretty important to everyone...

Well its in oregon, but if they get there way up there may set some precedent for it down here. I know in our homeowners meetings there is always and anti-wakeboarding bitch fest.

I got this from my buddy over @ foilfreaks

this might be bad news for everyone... if they pull it off here, it will
spread.

noneya, this has been going on for years with people up on the Willamette.

Such a ridiculous argument, the big day cruisers and barges put out wakes just as big as our wakeboats. I really hope it doesn't pass this time around either, but it's a pretty scary thought regardless.

ontrider,
You know good and well it's not hurting fish. Catch and Release for me. I'm in it for sport. Not good.

Sorry to back up fishing.

ban the damn tubers. if you watch the way they drive, they SUCK. we go in straight lines, they have no courtesy for anyone else on the water. go for safety, not for your own gain of "enjoying" the lake on your little pontoons Rolling Eyes

Some people just don't have anything better to do. A guy on our lake tried to get skiing and boarding before 8 AM banned because it woke him up. Even though a lot of people on our lake ski and board before 8 AM because the water is like glass.

Oregon should be banned from the US. That state blows. Bunch of liberal, tree, hugging a-holes with their 40 mph speed limits $500 speeding tickets. I hate that state.

Hi,

the river that I tow my son harely on has had restrictions placed on it, no wake enhancement devices of any kind allowed, no power turns, and a no wake zone for wakeboarding only, skiers are allowed to use that part of the river. It blows, skiers not only use this part of the river they also use other parts where wake boarders can use.
The waterways authority where we are have put this restriction in for 3 yrs we have about 18 months to go and then we will find out the fate of the river we use. Many water skiers have pushed to have the entire length of the river banned to wakeboarding.
It is very much a wait and see situation. Some people really sux when it comes to other people enjoying themselves. I dont care if you ski, tube air chair or what ever, as long as you do it safely and are having fun.

I think the wake boarders in each community need to ban together and actively change things. There is a lot of talk in forums etc, but unitl the community actively gets off their arses at takes the issue head on to the local councils or what ever powers that be, then we are all as useless as each other and its only going to get worse

You make a great point, it seems like wakeboarding is singled out. Why???

Of Course. Right after i move here to oregon what the hell. This better not happen cause wakeboarding is awsome! Tubers cause more mayhem then wakeboarders so why ban us not them?

Why does everybody think that? Have you ever even been to Oregon?

They won't ban tubing just because everyone can do it. It takes absolutely no skill to lay on a raft. Since it is something that EVERBODY can do they more than likely won't single it out.
