I know its not that big of a deal, but I have been really bummed that I couldnt do a freakin Whirly on the tramp. And if I cant do it on the tramp, I really didnt want to try it on the wake. I kept coming up short on my spin, only doing like a 180 or so.. but last night, Finally, I got it. I hammered out quite a few of them.. Even though it is just on the tramp, it gets me fired up, makes me feel like I can at least have a shot at doing it. _________________ www.blackwaterrydas.com

was for me.. but I think it was more a mind thing than anything else.. I expected to just put my biscep in front of my face, do a backflip and it would happen. Its a little more to it than that. Also I was just not letting myself spin long enough, I would come out of my flip when it felt comfortable, instead of waiting till the end.
So anyone that has dialed this on both surfaces, does it feel the same in the air? _________________ www.blackwaterrydas.com |

i think the whirlybird is a mind game. it was for me at least. it's not that it's really difficult, but it's just the different type of feeling when spinning around (behind the boat is different than tramp with the feeling). i was doing a few mobes, so i thought it would be okay, especially due to the fact that i was clutch with whirlys on a tramp. first one i tried and got around...completely different than what i expected. in a good way, of course. i still have yet to perfect it, but i can get it around every time and i stuck it in a few tournaments, once per run/two runs per comp. i was stoked but it just needs to be prettier. good luck with it though...it's definitely a sick trick to have in the bag. |

Hey guys.. can anyone give me some insight on what to expect taking this from the tramp to the water. I am pretty sure it is going to feel alot different, but does it feel at all the same? Is it easier to get all the way around because of the whip from the boat? or harder? If I am pretty comfortable with it on the tramp, should I have any trouble at least comming close? _________________ www.blackwaterrydas.com |

| I have never tried one on the tramp since I don't have one, but on the water I definitely feel like I come out of my spin to early. I always do a tantrum to blind so if you have any advice on fixing that let me know since that's what it sounded like you did on the tramp for a while. |

Honestly man, the my main problem was not waitng long enough in my spin. I was comming out too early. Once I made myself wait a 1/2 second longer, I realized I was getting it. Not sure it that will help you or not, but that was my issue _________________ www.blackwaterrydas.com |

| hey man i learned the whirly on the tramp also. IT looks like you need to get flatter. No so much like a back flip. Instead of throwing your head over your back throw it down behind your arm. IT is hard to explain. but try and become parallel with the tramp instead of perpendicular to it. |

flyhigh, when i tried whirly's on the tramp they look pretty much like that...nothing really like a real whirly but that's the same rotation so it helped a little, it was just try and try again until i finally stomped one on the water, i think you should learn it without too m any problems...

| Based on the video, I would try to wait another half a second before you are start to spin, you are almost jumping into the spin right off the mat. Try doing a couple late whirlys... this will give you the feeling of jumping, wait.. .then spin it around. Another thing that helps is jumping slightly away so that you're turning your back as you go up. |

when you begin the rotation, look at where your holding your arm. Its right next to your face. Now watch the position your arm stays in the whole time. You never really throw it across your face. That always helps me speed up the rotation while i'm flippin it. You held your elbow in a locked position right up until the end when your going around your head and then you let it out which slows your rotation. Thats how mine looked at first and i eventually put my tramp time in and broke that habit and kept my arm locked and now i have time to spot my landing and let my arm out if i over-rotate and what not.
I cant do a reg whirly on the tramp. All i have is switch, its a mental thing. Get some footage up of ur boat tantrum and maybe some whirly attempts _________________ I always choose hobbies that will prob kill me... ugh |

oh and i'd wait a little longer to throw it. Get a higher bounce on the tramp and get some more air time and throw it at the top of u'r jump and see how much more time you have to see whats going on when u land. Then proceed to learn whirly 5's _________________ I always choose hobbies that will prob kill me... ugh |
