Hey guys,

My S2000 got broken into in Orlando, and I decided that I'm going to keep it at home in Sarasota and just get a daily to take up to Orlando. Any ideas? My budget is 10-13k... and so far I found a ML 320 and a Grand Cherokee that I like... I want either a truck or an SUV... preferably SUV. If you have any ideas post em up, i'm having trouble thinking

david-d, I'm looking for a smaller SUV a little under that price range (damn college funds being low) to replace my Blazer... I've been looking at the Grand Cherokees and 4Runners... I'd prefer a 4Runner, but I'll take what I can get

I haven't looked at 4runners yet but I think I'd want a Grand Cherokee over a runner

david-d, yeah I thought the same thing, I didn't really look at 4Runners until I took one for a test drive last week that the dealer had on special. Then I started to notice that they seem to hold their resale value a lot better than other cars in the class. This car is just to hold me over until I graduate college in a year, so I don't want something that is going to go down too much in value you know?

senorbueno,
My friend has a 4runner and he always complains about the gas mileage sucking on it. I dunno about it.

If David is considering an ML and a Jeep I don't think he's too concerned with the gas mileage! Laughing Laughing

Sucks to hear about your car getting broken into, but ricers do seem to get hit the most.

I had a 99 XJ among the Jeep lineup of past. Loved it. Still wish I would have never sold it. Shoot, you can buy a 2000 in good shape for under 5k, drop in a 4.9L stroker in there, and smoke your S2000 in 1/8th mile all day. Smile

GMT400 platform Tahoe Sport, or Tahoe Z71. I love those things. Maybe a 70's Jeep Wagoneer. Dana axles, AMC 340, THM400 auto. Gotta be fun off road.

J_DOGG, I would love more than anything to get another motorcycle, but Orlando just isn't the town for it, and it's not practical for a DD since I have to transport my wakeboard and stuff.

It looks like I've decided... I found a 2001 Grand Cherokee 4x4 that I think I'm going to get. keith, when you move back down, we can go muddin!! wooo!!!!!!!

What type is it? Limited? Overland? Sport? V8 or I6? Command trac, quadradrive, or quadratrac?

And yes, we'll do some wheeling soon. 15 more days till I get back. Counting the days.

Coolness. You can stroke that engine too if you want (same as in xj and tj) and easily make close to 400 ft/lbs at under 2k rpms.

By the way, what are you doing up? Shouldn't you be in bed? You better be drinking a beer at least.

Yeah, I am. Can't sleep. So I'm drinking, watching And 1, and might play a little Call of Duty 4 too.
