Okay we have everything we need on our boat except perfect pass. The Cruise is much cheaper than the Wakeboard Pro. Is there really that much of a difference? We just want the boat to maintain the speed we want. Will we get that with Cruise control?

Wakeboard Pro is easier to use and has some additional features. Whether that's worth the extra $ is hard to call, but I wouldn't personally buy cruise because it's much easier to just dial in the speed you want instead of having to set it. Not a big deal to some people.

Could you explain the difference between dialing in the speed and setting it? Thanks!

The cruise model - you speed up to your desired speed and push a button and it is set. You never have to reset it. If you want to speed it up you hit the button and it speeds up 1/4 mph for each hit. Same with reducing speed.

The speed is always locked in, so next time you go to the lake you turn the unit on(1 click) and it will lock in when you get to the same speed.

The major differences are that the Cruise requires the use of the boat speedo to guage speed. The PRO has a built in speedo among other features.

Ahh, I see. So the Cruise is basically like your car's cruise control. The only problem would be if your boat's speedo stops working. Thanks for the info!

I'm not a hundred percent sure on this, but are you sure it works off the speedo??? I thought it ran more off revs & throttle...

Wakeboard Pro has 2 settings. Speed and RPM. RPM is used for slalom/tubing mostly and can be pretty sensative. Speed uses the spedo, and works great for boarding and anything between 15-25 mph. Here is a link to the manuals

If you have your WB Cruise set on 22 mph and your speedo goes dead, you will still get pulled at a constant 22 mph forever. It works off a paddlewheel for speed control. The boat speedo is just a guide. If the speedo is wrong and shows you are going 40 mph and the wake and speed is pefect that is OK. It is probably wrong but it doesn't matter. It is just a guide.

It is different than a car cruise in that when you speed back up after your boarder falls, it automatically locks back in. You don't have to hit any buttons. The only time you have to hit the resume button is after you shut down your motor.

The Cruise model is as simple as you can get. The Pro model would be better for people who ride alot and have different speeds for diffenent riders.

The people on my boat are all amatuers and I ride everyone at the same speed 22mph(per my speedo). If they want it slower I just slow it down a little at a time.

Whatever model you get check out www.elberts.com they have the best prices for PP I have found on the web!!! I have been if boats with the cruise and with the wakeboard pro.The cruise is cutt and dry not to fancy and worked great. The wakeboard pro had all the option's one could think of and very fancy and worked great. Bottom line, they both work great its just how much money you want to spend!!!

Get the wakeboard pro. Your boat's speedo is probably a POS compared to the speedo on the perfect pass. For wakeboarding, you want to be able to see how fast you're going accurately. Also, everyone has a different speed. Part of our ritual is to dial in a rider's speed before they jump in. I can't imagine trying to get the boat to their exact speed, then lock in on it. It'd be a waste of time... People just remember their speed and tell it to you as they're suiting up, "Put me at 20.5 and 65 feet for starters, then put me at 21.5 and 75 feet after I'm warmed up, OK?"

It's worth the extra money to have the display.... otherwise you'll just be adding it on later.

Absolutely wakeboard PRO ! I installed the cruise on my '95 supersport and thought it was the best but I have installed a wakeboard-pro on my '01 san and it works much better. It worth the extra money. It's much more comfortable to use and much more steady.

I think we'll just go with the cruise. Whatever accessories we buy for the boat I have to split the cost with my dad. I've got enough to get the Cruise so I think I'll just go with that. I just want the boat to maintain speed. Hopefully it works out.

Wow, Elberts is the same price as buying direct from PP. See http://www.perfectpass.com/.

I'm leaning toward the WB Pro when I have the cabbage.
