I've been wakebaording on a cable system for about a month now on a friends old board and want to get my own now. I've narrowed it down to the vision/link 135 or trip/alpha 138 package. I'm 5'7 and 168 lbs. my friends old board i'm riding is a 128 thanks for the help =D

I ride an 04 trip with 06 transits. The board is quite fun. And a classic shape. I have the cupped side fins on it right now with out the middle fins. Easy to break loose. You'll definately be happy on it. Of coarse, I came form riding an 01 LF Search, so just about anything will be better.

I go my set up at at steal too. $69 for the board, $99 for the bindings.

Ebay is your friend.

In my opinion the alphas offer very little ankle support. I ride with the sphynxes which aren't as stiff as some of the other bindings out there, and they have way more support than the alphas do. I would definitely demo some stuff if possible before you buy it. It's completely worth it.

I ride the alphas......

I agree that they have very little ankle support, they are much lower than other boots that I have owned. More importantly, some folks have complained about pain in their feet from the very rigid arch support / deep heel cup.

If you like a boot that
a) grabs your foot tight and locks it in (firm laces, deep heel cup)
b) is really easy to get on and off (low back and sides)
c) doesn't lock your ankle tight (low back and sides)
d) is < $100
the alpha is not a bad option.

The link bindings suck. They don't stay tight. My buddies have started to come unglued after one summer of riding.

However, they are a cheap entry level binding...I'd go LF.
