| I've been thinking about getting a hd setup. What kind of camera/lense do you have, how much did you pay and where did you get them? The quality of that vid is amazing. |

Its a Canon XH A1, everything is stock. The great thing about the XH A1 is the online community, a lot of people have created these presets that you can download and put on the SD card. This one in particular is called VividRGB. The real thing with HD is compression and figuring out how to maintain quality while not having crazy big files. _________________ stay clean, like me

Oh, the camera is $3500 with a $250 rebate. The tripod is a LS22(2A) Libec with fluid head which was $500. _________________ stay clean, like me

cool, but id never buy something so fragile and delicate off of ebay. But thats just me... and dont expect the rebate to work with something from ebay. _________________ stay clean, like me

PimpinD2 - what software are you using to compress/upload these files?
I bought a Sony 30GB HD camcorder last year. I need to start moving the videos over to my laptop. I'm using the Sony software that was provided but it's very slow and I can't figure out how to make the videos smaller. For example, I transferred over a 4 min video (.m2ts file that is 262MB), but when I convert it into a .mpg file, it's still 170MB. Am I missing something?
Also, I'm assuming the .m2ts file is HD, but can I compress it down to a smaller size without losing any quality? |
