Anyone here come up with a good weighting system for the ever large LSV! I have a feeling it is going to take a ton of weight to sink this boat down. It has the standard MLS in the ski locker and the wedge, but I would like a bigger wake.

I was thinking of adding 500lbs in each rear side locker, and putting another 500-600lbs up front, with the MLS. Think this is enough?

Any experiences with weighting an LSV would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, the Diamond Hull is considered a quick planer! I also consider the hull relatively flat. So, I think a 40/60 weight ratio would work.

I had a 2001 LSV and I can tell you that the boat likes the weight up front. We would fill all the factory ballast in rear and put a Phat Buddie (275#) in front of back seat, then fill front MLS and put a 400# locker sack on top of ski locker, then drop the wedge. If you put too much weight in rear the boat will have a cavitation problem. This is just my personal experience. The wake like I explained was huge! I did like the LSV!

I have a 2000 LSV and i have 700 in back, plus wedge and 400 up front, in a custom ballast. This is barely enough in the front. If we have more than 3 people in the boat we have to pull up the wedge or lett some of the rear tanks out. But with a 40/60 ration and not too many people, it should be jsut fine.

by the way, I love the LSV wake, much wider than VLX, but still very clean and rampy... and monterous with a lot of weight.
