I just bought a 2000 tige riders addition...noticed the tower moves a lot (on the road and water). Anyone know if this is just how they come, or is there something I need to fix...
any suggestions on a new tower???

Paige,
We have done several replacement towers for Tige boats. Our AX2 model tower goes right over the factory locations. Check out our web site www.wakeair.com the blue and yellow boat on the first page is a Tige 21v. Let me know if you have any questions.

I agree, we call it the rattle cage. Every old tige tower rattles around and doesn't seem stable at all. I'm glad they finally made an upgrade and went with something else that is more durable. I'm guessing you have the one with only 2 spots for boards on the board racks.

| That's the one I have...with the two "board racks" on top-which make me nervous everytime we use 'em!

I've heard the same thing. The older towers rattle, I think that's one of the reasons such a good boat has gotten such a bad reputation. That said, I have never heard anything about the towers self distructing or falling apart.

| Check to see if all the bolts are tight, I think you'll need a big allen wrench. My buddies Tige' tower was rattling a bit, while tightning all the bolts we found one that was broken. Once he got a new bolt it stopped rattling, now it barely makes any noise.

Thanks for all the info!!
All bolts are tight-looks like I'm going to have to get a new one, don't want that thing falling apart on me. Any suggestions on what to get (or what not to get)?

Check the bolts that are on the top of the tower under the pads where the board racks are. I have an '01 Tige and the tower broke at this location. It's where the top piece of the tower (looks like a ladder on it's side) bolts to the upright supports.

| I had the same problem with my tower on my 21V. I got rid of the bolts and had the sections welded together. It made it much stiffer. I also got my wake designs racks welded together - which got rid of the pull pin. Now they are solid as a rock, as well.

| you probably have a broken H frame which is what Sambo is talking about. I had the same thing too and now with the new one my tower is way more solid. Call Tige or Metcraft and see if they will hook you up!

| This weekend we pulled all kinds of people behind it, from "the big guy" to the one that does all the inverts...looks like it is going to hold up after all! Probably wait until next season to replace it. Thanks for all the help!

We have several people that have exhausted the options for becoming happy with existing Tige towers and because of the level of interest are looking at a retrofit so no additional holes will need to be drilled in the boat. This is both with owners and dealers.
If anyone is interested in a Monster Tower for their Tige give me a call and we'll trade your help in getting the retro-kit done for a sweet deal on a tower. We need someone with a caliper for some good measuring or within a few hours drive of Atlanta.
Bill
