What do i need to buy to have a seperate volume control for my 15'' sub from my regular pioneer 6.5'' speakers in my boat? When I turn the stereo up too high to get the 15'' bumpin, the 6.5''s sound like crap.

well the best way would be a crossover with a sub volume knob. another way to do it with what you already have(maybe) is to run the sub amp off the rear rcas and the speakers off the front rcas and just use the fade. I'd really have to know the set up your running and how it's wired to tell you more.

Does your head unit have independent sub control? That is really the best way to do it.

fool with the gain controls on the amp to get the sub to hit harder at lower volumes. Too much gain though and it will sound like crap. try turning down the bass at the head unit and messing with gain to get some of the bass off the 6.5s, if you insist on turning the stereo up high. im assuming the 6.5s are not hooked up to the amp. if none of this works buy a crossover and wire the 6.5s up using it, this will simply filter out low frequencies which cause your distortion. also the "volume control" you are talking about is probably a remote bass control and not all amplifiers have this feature.

Seperate amp to the sub.
either a crossover, or a EQ with a sub out option.
