Went out yesterday, had a great riding day, so I thought
I would try to butter slide my 3ds on top the wake Shocked Don't do it..man it put the hurt on me. (The guy's in the boat loved the face plant) I still have the 1.1 fins on which doesn't help. That is one tight griping board.

SeaLyon,
I tried a surface 180 one time. That's all it took for me to not try it again for a bit.

The bad thing is I knew better, but decided to squat low and try it any way.
Won't do it again.

SeaLyon, I have the 3DS and it definitely is tricky to do but you just need to lift your edge up a lot more than normal. It feels really weird and sluggish when you do it too, but if you life your front end high enough then you'll be OK.

FLWake, I might try again when I get smaller fins, but I also have a murray I'll probably just use it instead of all the pain Laughing

If you have large fins you kind of have to hop onto the wake to not catch an edge. While you're sliding you should be in the center of the board with the fins out of the water anyway. Getting smaller fins will help your technique though.

SeaLyon, i have the 3ds and have been riding one for the last couple years. Put you some .08 fins on it. The board isnt as "sticky" as you make it out. For my style of riding it is perfect. Fast and doesn't sit too low in the water. Try it again with smaller fins or no fins at all if you want to do butter slides. Finless, you will not have a problem spinning the board on the water in any directrion you want.

Why not? I do it on mine all the time and I have my fins in. It isn't as easy as a finless board, but it isn't all that hard.

I still have the 1.5" fins on my Omega and can slide it around all over the water no problem. Just takes some practice breaking the fins loose.
