| pass the handle as late as you possibly can. like right as you hit the water basically. |

| They look really good, you just need to bend your knees a little more when you land, which will kinda force you to lean more forward; that's what seems to be the problem with the first 180 in the video- you are leaning backwards. Landing blind is really hard for me, and I always pass my bs 1's. a tip that i've found helpful is if you pop and look at the boat first, then start rotating, it really works well.. but you have good form anyways so i don't know. it seems like you know how to do the trick well, you have the right body motion and everything... you'll probably land it soon. sorry for this long rant about nothing haha |

Friend of mine I ride with a lot who is basically a pro-level rider (still competes on occassion and has a small LF sponsorship) was telling me the other day that it's really important to point to the shore with your off hand. Watched a few vids over the weekend and it looks like everytime I see a blind landing this is the case (unless they're passing the handle right away).
I didn't watch your vid so maybe you're doing it already but if not try emphasizing that and hopefully it'll help.
Just watched the vid and I think this will help since you're actually not doing it at all. It should help keep your balance over your toes. |

Epic, which shore are you pointing to?
If I pop and turn, land on my toes facing behind the boat, then my off shoulder is pointing to the boat, no? |

Depends on which side you are doing this from. I guess the easy way to put it would be the hand you're not holding the handle with. If you watch the video you'll see the original poster's right arm is just kind of hanging down in front of him as he lands. If you watch vids of pro's riding (Keith Lyman exaggerates it quite a bit) you'll notice their hand without the handle points away from the boat and towards the shore they're riding towards and out and away from their body. It just helps keep your weight over your toes. |

keep on trying... you'll probably gonna get it soon. Both me and my friend had the same problem and eventually we just started hitting them. Try holding your edge just a tad bit more through the wake and focus on getting som more weight over your toes!
Good luck! |

| Your problem is that you're looking back towards the boat as you land. When you spot your landing, you should be looking at the shore directly behind the boat (somewhere between the boat's 6 and 8 ). Try this. It will work. I promise. |

Nice try and really close. Couple of things.
firstly look down at the wake and spot where you about to land this will delay the spin. I actually keep looking at the second wake while im spinning. Its not a terribly difficult trick but requires you to have a little finese. secondly just keep your chest over your toes but not your entire body weight.
Incidentally grabbing or shifty before going to blind feels and looks wicked. very best of luck |

ty540 and kuehn gave some great advice. If you want to get that sucker in one day, learn it progression style. Start out by riding in the "cuffed" position, named that because you make like you're in hand cuffs behind your back. Go to the spot you'll be landing the move (trough of the left wake) on your switch ts edge, and grab the handle with both hands behind your back. When in that position, do what the 2 guys above me said, look toward the back and keep your chest over your toes. It feels weird, but it will get you used to being in that position. You can even edge out a few times to really get the feel for it.
Next, learn it in the flats. Do some ollie bs 180s. You can slow down the boat so the crashes don't hurt. Edge out, go neutral on your edge, and while you're still moving away from the wake, ollie and do the 180. Really focus on getting the ollie, waiting, then turning it. You can start landing it blind (no handle pass), and get to where you're passing the handle as you land.
Then learn it inside out. That is, from the middle of the wakes, landing where you'll land doing it w2w.
Now it's time to take it wake to wake. Doing it this way will get your body used to the movement and help you learn it quickly and keep the move in your repertoire. You can really learn it in one set out there. Do each of those steps a few times. BS 180s are some of the most fun moves on a wakeboard, good luck!
And finally, grab that sucker! |
