I just got a new 06 LSV last weekend. The dealer had it in storage and thought it was an 07 untill they unwraped it. I was going to get an 07 X-1 untill I came across this boat. It was a pretty good deal that was hard to pass on. The wake is pretty good with the Gravity III, especially since I am coming from an I/O. I have a flyhigh 750# bag leftover from the old boat and was thinking of getting another to replace the rear bags.

I dont know what the stock bags weight but the rears look small. I would probably just keep the front bag and that would put me pretty close to a 60/40 weight distribution, if the front weight 600# like I have seen. Has anyone seen this setup or something close to the same weight distrubution? Right now the wake seems kinda mellow and I would like it a little more rampy.

Also the boat didnt come with a wakeplate. Is this worth getting?

I have only been out one weekend but so far I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Well thanks for that very insightful advice, that just pretty much summed it all up right there. At least now I know what to expect when I hit the water. Oh boy I cant wait

Derek03- Something seems odd about that. My first question would be to the dealer how would they not know what year the boat was? If they just unwrapped it, and it was an 06....then it's been sitting since AT LEAST July of last year.

Also, the boat has 1200 lbs of factory ballast. A 10x16x70 sac in each rear compartment and a 10x16x70 in the center. These are the '07 ballast bag dimensions on the Mobius LSV which I believe were the same as the '06. I just wanted to make sure you're not talking about the Outback V.

So, the front sac should be the exact same size as the two rears.

I don't own one or have much time in one to really tell you how to dial in the wake. I've seen a few posts about that boat and how to weight it over on wakeworld.com .....probably with less immature commentary from the peanut gallery as well.

Anyway, yes, wakeplate is a MUST.

NAW, thanks for the reply. I realise some people dont really have anything better to do than just sit around and be useless.

Anyways the 06 ballast is different. I hoped it was the same as 07 but the rear sacks are only 16x16x30. The front I am not really sure about because I havent looked yet but I have been told that it was only 400lbs. What I think I am going to do is just try the 750s in the rear with the 400 in the floor. If in need I can also put the smaller bags in the bow under the seats. I think I will wait a little while longer to get a few more hours on the motor though.

As far as the dealer not knowing they still had an 06. Well im not really sure what to think but that is the story I got. The hour meter showed 0 and everything appeared to be brand new. What ever the reason I got a bigger boat with a 325hp EFI motor and more options for half the price of the X-1 so it was a hard deal to pass on. I know it doesnt have the reputation and as high of quality of MC but it doest the job for me.

David not useless. Your right you have been so helpful. As a matter of fact I dont know what you are doing wasting time here. You should be writing for a magazine or making your own instructional videos.

As far as my question being stupid, well for such a seasoned professional as yourself I can see how that would be true. You have to remember though that all of us just arent as great as you.

Trying to get help with adding additional ballast from people that have alread done it? Your right, what was I thinking asking a question like that? Mabey I will buy one of your videos and see how things are really done.

Pardon my interruption into your busy schedule with writing, filming and pro tours I know things can get busy. I guess I will just go be a bitch and wait by my mailbox for your next editorial.

Oh wait, I just rememberd. You clicked on a thread you knew nothing about and had no valid input. Why dont you just stick to things you know about.
