| right now im riding an 04 LF evo and it just has the one center stabilizer fin and the two outside molded fins, i'm looking at a new board perhaps the ronix one board, which has just the two outer fins, just wondering what i can expect if i was to switch to a board like this, is there really a different feel as far at stability? |

I haven't ridden either but I have rode the new 08 Ronix Ibex which has the two outer fins as you describe. I ride a 07 CWB Kink that has the two outer channels and a center fin. So this difference maybe a help for your situation.
The Ronix tracked very well and had an easy switch from edge to edge. When carving i felt more response on the Ronix than my board and could change edges extremely hard and fast without any notice of a slide. The pop the boards had were extremely different. The Ronix of course had way more pop but for some reason I could not get the Ronix to land as smooth but I think thats because of my lack of familiarity and skill.
I did seem to catch the fins on the Ronix more than than those on my board. The channels seem to allow sliding more easily and that might make it seem more forgivable.
Just my $0.02 do with it what you will. _________________ Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn. |

| It depends a lot on how deep your fins on your old board are as well. I rode a CWB Hood before I got my 06 Shane setup. The Hood has molded fins but they are very small, however the center fins were 2 inches deep. That board didn't really slide around at all because of how deep the fins were, but when I rode finless it didn't track. My Shane board has the outer molded fins and then I ride with the other fins in as well. I can still slide it around pretty good even with 4 fins at each end to keep me tracking. I would demo the board before I bought it just to get a feel for what it's like. You can't just tell how it will feel because it's all personal preference on how loose you want the board to be in the water. |
