My height isnt bad on regular TS jumps, that could also be improved I guess.
Any thoughts? |

| front rolls are like tantrums where you have to build a lot of speed so you get the "trip" part of the flip...for crows I load the line really hard by really edging away from the boat hard which gives me that pop i need....do you have a video that would help? |

wait longer than you think you need to throw it, then wait a little longer. you need to do this off the peak of the wake, or your board will stick to the water and you won't get height or rotation _________________

Thanks, have followups:
Michigan boarder-Edging away from the boat, so like a HS backroll the nose is perpendicular to the wake, or even farther back?
LakeIolaLuke: You still throw it while on the wake, trip style, correct? Not after you leave the wake.
Will try to post a video |

i'd say i'm close to perpendicular but i've honestly never asked how i look for my cut...i just know that it's a lot harder of a cut for a frontroll than a crow. For front rolls you almost have to try to overrotate. It's one of those tricks that looks easy but really isn't.
I agree with LakeIolaLuke when he said waiting helps. I used to underrotate crows becuz i'd dig into the wake like he said. So def. try waiting longer than you think |

Michigan, I must be getting messed up in the semantics.
the cut, the load, the speed, I think of them all as similar/related.
You cut harder on the FR, but you load the line more for the scarecrow.
Do you think of the speed in as similarly fast?
Are you also saying you dont do the scarecrow as a trip flip?
thanks...maybe I'm overthinking this |

| I've always done crows as a "trip flip," and just like a tantrum, the more speed and the harder you come off, the more pop you'll get. Once you feel the pop its just a matter of really ducking your back shoulder and moving the rope to your back hip, it sounds confusing, but really isnt. Just think of a tantrum cut toeside, cut out wide - cut in hard - flatten off, and the rest is just timing. Make sure you stand tall and not crunch over into a weird ball, its not pretty. Stand nice and tall and dip your back shoulder. I use the same cut for a FR just dip both shoulders, maybe my front a little more to keep from going crow, and I let go with my back hand right away. |

| it's still a trip flip...and yeah u r probably overthinking it...honestly u have to see what works for you. I throw crows differently than my buddy that I ride w/ does so it's all personal preference. |
