Finally got to get the boat out for the first time in 2 weeks and went to our favorite riding spot at about 4pm for a nice evening session and it was awesome, had a lot of people in the boat so the wake was sick and had awesome water to ride in.

updated: went camping here a couple weeks ago, some more shots i'll share, saw 1 other boat out there the whole day, amazing. pics at the bottom

Zcaithaca, thanks, you can't really tell its a 30d from the picture since their are such bad quality, couldn't keep a shutterspeed above 1/50 since it was getting quite dark. and yes, the vride throws an incredible surf wake with minimal weight, only 100 pounds of lead on top of the stock balast and wedge.

liquid_force_balance06, haha, it didn't look that bad in person but once i went back to the pictures and saw the board coming down on his head it looked like it could have been nasty.

E.J., thanks, that lake is unbelievable, relatively smooth water all week and butter almost every week day.

Change the iso to 800 or so. Then play with the f stop.

Blake, i think i had it set on iso 400, and then forget to bump it up when the sun slipped over the mountain, but i always shoot in Av mode for wakeboarding and keep it wide open or stopped down once or twice. and i had a polarizer filter on which probably made me loose another 2 stops of light and i forgot to take that off as well lol

That looks like an ideal place for boarding/skating/surfing. Is anyone else even on the lake?

inter, thanks

lfpimp, on a weekday the lake is just empty, only a few bass fisherman. on the weekends though it gets a little crowded but empties out at about 5pm every time.

chazz - ya, its gotten a little more popular, especially with tubers, but most are from sac direction and clear out early to get home since its about a 2 hour drive for them.

RC- it's Bullard's Bar. The lake has been featured in a bunch of wake vids over the years...

Nice pictures... We don't have many lakes around this area that look as nice as that. Ours are all packed on the weekends. Keep it up.

We used to go to Bullards back in the early 80's

There was no Marina / the only gas was off the lake about five miles east of camp

You could go there 4th of July weekend, and there would only be a half dozen campers in camp the whole weekend

It became my favorite lake (even over Shasta) but around 1990 the marina opened and gas was available on the water and the crowds came

But for a while..... It was a great lake
