dont pass the handle, do it overhead. It's quite easy, just come at it like a crow, but don't rotate straight over. Throw your back shoulder down, and hold on with your back hand the whole time. This is one trick where you don't pull the handle to your hip, just your elbow, and keep the handle by your head. push it across your face to speed the rotation up, and landing comes super easily. _________________

ohio_wake_2008, I have the same problem. Always land on the board never have the handle. I do them on the tramp all the time without a problem. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

The ole versions will be cake if you learn the handle pass versions first. If you can't get the handle, it is either too far away from your body while spinning or the rope has too much tension through out. If its the latter case, take a similar cut to flat t/s 5.
Having the rope too far away when spinning occurs from "scarecrow"-ing too much, too soon off the wake. YOu dont need a ton of energy tossed in (it opens you up too much) to complete the spin because its so natural. In stead of hucking harder off the wake, wait first, then put a concious effort into making your hips travel up and over the handle so that you are nearly sitting on (the closer the better) it during the pass. If you do this right the handle will be so close you have no choice but to grab it, look at the boat to finish the spin, and edge away pressed on your heels into the wonderful world of off-axis spins. hope it helps. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002
