So A few weeks ago I landed my first front roll, and have landed a bunch since then also, but looking back at these pics, i cant help but feel like im doing something wrong, in the first pic it looks like im doing a forward cartwheel like flip and in the sequence you can see that my board is not flipping over my head as much as it should (and i didnt pop).

Any idea what im doing wrong?

looks pretty good to me...maybe stand a bit taller on your pop to get a more vertical rotation, but i wouldn't sweat how it looks now

Yeah thats my biggest problem, not standing tall at the wake, and I know I dont do it most of the time, but for some reason I keep doing it lol.

now that I have the rest of the pics from the sequence i want to post them cause im pretty impressed that I saved myself from bailing on this, i was pretty much riding on my ass but somehow i got up.

also, any tips on turning a roll into the scarecrow? is alot of it about keeping both hands on the rope?

You need to edge harder when you're close to the wake for the low ones. Make sure that you use the whole wake and that you're not just "falling over it." You also have the handle too far out. Keeping it close to your hip should help you flip better too. The crow could be easier than the front roll for you. Put more tension on your back arm during your takeoff and while you are in the air and you'll spin. Turn your head a little to the left and down. Crows are easier in my opinion.

i forgot to say something else Confused ....make sure that once u learn that harder edge u need to do the crow make sure that when ur doing a front roll u really pull the handle to ur lead hip right at the end of the trick otherwise u will start to go towards a crow everytime...keeping the handle at ur hip which is your center of gravity is a huge part of front rolls

im in the process of perfecting both of those inverts. For me atleast I use a tantrum cut for both....start wide, cut super hard, and flatten of, it gives me the pop and makes the landings nice and soft, i just cut harder if i want them in the flats. For the crow I hit and dip my right(im regular) shoulder down while standing tall and bring the rope to my back hip and the flip does itself. The FR I stand tall and dip both of my shoulders and about halfway through let go with my back hand. The only thing i could say with your sequence is try leading with both shoulders, it seems like a crow take off that you slammed back to fr. I learned a crow first and it was an easy transition to fr so dont worry about that. And if you dont want to slide out, i was doing that too, its like landing a hs fs 180 just keep your chest over your toes and keep your edge.
