|
|
| This is my second season on the wakeboard and I've started using the wake skate. I have the basics down, but want to start learning some tricks. What are the first 3 tricks a beginner wakeboarder should learn? Also, other than filling my ballast tank, what do I need to do to get more height on a jump? |

ChasK, Welcome to the board!
Bill Y Bob is correct - getting your 180s dialed and riding switch are the most important building blocks IMO. Start riding switch as soon as you can, the earlier you start doing it, the more natural it will feel.
As far as getting more height on your jumps - learn your progressive edge. I charged the wake for 2 years before I figured out how to edge correctly through the wake and it has made a HUGE difference in my riding.
I suggest buying Higher Learning on DVD if possible and watch it about 100 times! That DVD never gets farther than 3 ft away from the TV at our house. |

jt09- Maybe you should watch it 100 more times, then maybe you'll get the name right. "Higher Education".
Just playin', sorry couldn't resist.
Later... |

Hey, thanks for the tips. I got the switch down -- is that the same as the 180? -- basically changing which foot is back. I get up on either foot off deep water starts and feel pretty comfortable either way.
And I just bought the video (whatever it's called) and Snap, which is the wake skate one. After I check that out a few (hundred) times, I'll have more questions, I'm sure. |

Other than filling the tanks you should get an extended pylon or tower.
I think its easier to get up switch.
1 st 3 tricks, after wake 2 wake
surface and W2W 180's, grabs, ollies...but that was just me. |
