How do you drive for double ups? A diagram from photoshop or MS Paint would be appreciated (sp?)

...short, sweet, and to the point.
The 90 degree 't-bone' style will kick up more of a big vertical wall, it spikes up quicker and its harder to time b/c the swell coming into it will be deeper, the spike kind of comes out of nowhere but it does get huge. Especially if your boat is real weighted.
The less-than-90 approach will give more of a transition to the spike, its easier to see, easier to time, and easier to hit. Your jump being less 'straight up' is a good way to put it, that is a good method of driving double ups for sure.

You really have just have to go through a couple clean ones to see whats required, the only hard part is timing the charge and even that comes in time. A good driver and a weighted boat are key to a good double up though, doing the above motions isn't all it takes.
You hit it pretty much like a regular wake jump, you are hitting your wake in the same place, you just wait to time your charge to when the 2nd oncoming roller is hitting it too. It will make the wake spike up and will turn it into a huge launch ramp with a lot more energy pushing the water (and you) upwards.
There are a couple more variables to work with compared to a regular wake jump. First, you don't want to hang out more than probably 10 feet outside your wake- you need control over speed because of the rollers. Its best to take a very smooth cut towards the wake, you can pump in and out of the swells. If you time it right, you will dip in a big swell right before the 2up wake spikes up. Thats when you really turn on your edging power and dig your heels in like a mean s.o.b., I mean like 3-5ft outside the wake. If you time it right and hold your edge through the wake, you will get launched. If you don't time it right, just absorb the rollers with your knees and wait on the boat to straighten out again for the next pass. BUT don't assume you didn't time it right b/c the spike really does come out of nowhere- commit to it until you KNOW you didn't hit it, then just try to recover.

Thanx, that makes a lot of sense. How about triple ups?

I've heard to prevent hitting your own rollers when driving is to cut out 45 degrees and then drive the double up. I guess the idea is that you're sending your rollers away from you when you make the first part of the turn. I do this when I pick up fallen riders. Turn 45 degrees in the opposite direction of your turn, decelerate, then make your turn. No rollers....
I don't think I'm explaining this well. Sorry. There was a good article in WBM last month that spoke of this. Check it out.
