Homemade wakeskate

I made a skate over the winter and it's been sitting in my basement. Was gonna try it out this weekend but need to finish it off. How many coats of varnish/waterseal should I put on? And do I need any special grip tape for the top or will skateboard work? Some people have told me it peels, others say it's fine.


(oh, and did the old profiles get deleted or something when this board was changed? I haven't been in awhile and my profile was gone. anyone?)
