Resurrection. Time for forums to come back.

That's right kiddies. I'm still alive. I haven't logged in here in I don't even know how long. Those of you who know me, know I used to go by another name, till I decided to Ghost myself. Those of you on FB know me as "Nick". Cool

With all the craziness going around, and the constant mess of crap spewed from the news, I've literally just turned off the News and I only use FB now for Marketplace.

Is this the time for Forums to come back? I think FB killed them, but honestly, I'm about done with the crazy Karen's on there. I prefer the insane debauchery that we used to instigate in here.

So what say ye? Forums make a comeback in 2021?

I haven't logged in on here in YEARS... only thought of it because Chrome indicated I should change my password due to it potentially being compromised (on this and other sites)... logged in to change it and thought I'd take a look around.

It's pretty easy to filter what you see on FB, in fact you have to ADD or accept people as friends even to see them in the first place, and then can limit who sees you and who you see. This "fb bad" thing is pretty boomer-ish, "get off my lawn!" lol.

Forums made a huge comeback, they're just consolidated to reddit now.

I used to post here as a child and remember being intellectually outclassed by almost everyone. I just turned the big 3-0 and decided to reminisce the sites I browsed half of a lifetime ago for old times sake.

It's not boomerish to dislike facebook. Their corporate philosophy is trash and I'm trying to slowly back off of it.

Sorry wb.com but I’ve just recently started following Reddit, and that’s where it’s at. I will regularly see things posted on Reddit, and then 2-3 days later those things will be picked up by major news outlets. I don’t even need to check news websites anymore.

I still ride, but my knees hate it. My kids, who have been surfing for some time, now are all about wakeboarding, which is cool. It would be awesome if this place came back to life.

I actually got behind the boat a couple weekends back while helping teach my buddy's kids to ride. Not sure I'd been on a wakeboard (vs a surfboard) for maybe 10yrs? Had a clean run w/ a single w2w jump and tossed the line after - I wasn't going to push my luck! Pretty stoked about it!

Won 2nd in my class behind the boat and 3rd in a big air kicker contest this past weekend... completely whiffed it in the rail contest though Rolling Eyes

Get back out there guys... You don't have to be the best rider to get in a quick set and share the stoke with friends/family!

I actually had someone wakeboard behind the boat last week. I was nervous driving at 21mph!!! I wanted to slow it back down to 10.8!

We're rolling up on 8 years here with two kids in school now.

A guy I know just leased out more space for his board shop and it made me wonder if Ed still had this place running or if it had burned to the ground. Glad to see it's still here!

I have boards in the local Malibu shop but I don't go up there fulltime like I did in the past. I should have burned it down years ago when I had two storage containers full of product. That would have been a graceful exit strategy. The market actually was really great the last two years because of covid. Everyone decided to buy boats and gear. The shop is a side hustle now but a pretty good one. I will probably keep hustling the wake gear as long as I have a boat on the water.

I just found out last week that Buywake sold to the wakeboards.com people. I didn't see that coming but I guess the sons decided it was time to sell.

I have been looking for a salt water boat for the past two years but just have not pulled the trigger. I need one for the beach house.

Funny...I just thought about this forum and how I haven't checked it out in forever. I hopped on just to see if there was much activity. I noticed the thread about building the house and scrolled back through that. Pretty crazy! Come July, we have been living in that house for 7 years. Our boys have grown/aged a lot since then. Our oldest turned 23 in November and our youngest turns 21 in May. Our oldest actually just bought himself a wake boat (08 Supra Launch 24SSV). He's had a few buddies that all go to the lake regularly on one boat or another and decided it was time for one of his own.

Traded my X2 in for a center console for fishing, etc in like 2011.
