I think I might do this. I called around and it looks like two weekends and you can knock this out.

Not looking for a fulltime hobby but it would be nice to dive. I think?

How many divers do we have?

I'm certified. I got certified in 2013? Been on 5 or so dives. Just don't find time to go much now days.

I got certified in college and my wife is starting her certification next weekend. It is fun but I have not done it in years hopefully when my wife starts doing it I will go more.

I busted my ear drum in the tank learning to dive. Turns out I couldn't equalize so my diving career ended before it even started. That's how I got into kiteboarding though. Had the trip booked to Roatan when all that happened so I had to find something else to do.

Diving is for old people. Take up kiting, you go to the same spots really and kiting is way more fun with hotter chicks... haha

Please dont do a quick class. I've been diving over 20 years and have spent a significant amount of time preventing serious injuries to those that took quick classes...

Pulled a couple off of the coral reef that were getting smashed
Found lost divers that had no orienteering training
Saved individuals from ruining their equipment
Prevented a diver from rocketing to the top

A dive class should take a minimum of two or three months. You should spend a minimum of:

a class learning appropriate equipment
a class learning underwater orientation
two classes learning dive tables
five to ten classes of pool sessions
(Pool sessions should include emergency ascent, taking gear off at bottom of pool, buddy breathing, gear retrieval and putting it on at the bottom of the pool and emergency response)
a class dedicated to environment awareness and boat etiquette
You should have a minimum of 10 open water dives (regardless of what the cert you are getting states) that include boat, beach, emergency drills, etc

Unless you plan on diving a lot, I'm not sure how you plan for that exactly if you're new, but look into taking a freedive class instead maybe. LOTS to learn and more applicable to "regular life" I think. Just my 2 cents.

Im not looking to be a pro...but I don't want to die either.. My brother-in-law has been diving for a decade. Just thought it would be nice to go on a few with him in the future.

Ive watched some of your lobster and clam trips.. that looks really fun!

Good to see you on camera now.
