Do you ever look at the date you signed up for the forums, or remember when the old wb.com forums switched over to these and ask, where did the time go, why don't I wakeboard anymore, and holy stuff my knees hurt. |

Chavez.. I saw that on FB.. Sorry to see that. I broke a few ribs three years ago snowboarding. I think I am done snowboarding.
I just turned 46 and I will probably never ride a wakeboard again unless I have to show my sons punk friends how to do it.
I dont think anyone wakeboards anymore. If you look at all the sales these days it does not include wakeboards at any level. Even the entry level boards are not moving. _________________ Wakeskating

flixmaster, my skiing career is def not over. I just won't be going airborne anymore unless it's mandatory.
What is moving today if not wakeboards? Surf gear? _________________

Wakesurf boards are moving but only to the tow boat industry.
Wakeboard boats at the 100K+ market seem to be moving like hot cakes also. _________________ Wakeskating

Come on. At 48 I'm still boarding. I don't do anything crazy by any means. Just like to get behind the boat and do some wake to wake, 180's that kind of stuff. When I'm tired and sore I'll get on the surfboard.
You old retired wakeboarders need to pick up kiteboarding. Much much much easier on the body and you can get crazy air with soft landings.
As for snowboarding, I'm a snob, only fresh snow and my board doesn't leave the surface. _________________ Don't do anything rash.....and don't do anything to get a rash... |

It's been quite an evolution, that's for sure. I wasn't around in the beginning, but this site has definitely changed in the time I've been involved. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

I still ride 4 or 5 times a year. I get to the lake more than that. Jet ski, RAD, wake skate, SUP... and TRYING to get the 5 year old to trust me that he is not going to drown sitting on a knee board being pulled at idle speed. _________________ Work SUX! |

Traded up from PS205 to an X-1 last summer and haven't gotten around to getting a new wakeboard. The kids surf, I get on the skate and ride, but I don't think I have any interest in being strapped in any more. My kids are old enough I'm trying to get them to try it instead of the tubes, but they don't seem interested. My nephews still ride every weekend we are out though. |

Thinking those boats move because they look cool?
Perhaps gas prices and the recession really hurt wakeboarding. I think we'd all agree wakeboarding perhaps hit its peak 1999-2006? |

No one boards behind our boat anymore. If there was some way to retrofit this new front prop lower unit stuff to mine, we'd get in the surf scene for sure. Otherwise, just another annoying family pulling rug rats on a tube. After 40, it takes almost a week to recover from 15 minutes on a wakeboard. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/greasemonkeytv |

Will turn 40 this November and still regularly wakeboard winning Advanced and Masters grassroots events regularly... I have a friend I started riding with 20 years ago that's in his mid-70s! I won't stop riding anytime soon... Wakesurfing is not important to me but do it on rare occasions.
I also try to make snowboard trips at least once or twice a year... Just got back from Breck last month. As long as you keep fit there's no reason you can't keep doing any sport to some degree! _________________ Jason

Sold my boat, but still wakeboard a few times a summer. My knees aren't what they once were and I'm only 28
Went snowboarding this past weekend for the first time in about 7 years. I was a little worried, but I guess it's like riding a bike. I picked right up were I left off. |

Great to see old faces here. I pop in on occasion but usually not much to rant about.
I'm still holding it down, try to ride about once a week. I'm slowly losing tricks tho, no bueno. Think I'm giving up on my lifetime goal of landing a whirlybird. I'm slowly turning back into an old man.
About 5 years ago - amazing what a divorce will do for you, it's like a fountain of youth. Lost 25 pounds, bought a boat, made some new friends, moved to uptown, traveled and partied like crazy. Fast forward to today and everyone's settling down, getting engaged, married, kids. Girlfriend moves in, the joints start hurting more. But hey at least weed is legal in a ton of states. So we have that going for us. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Saw a few guys kiteboarding in Punta Cana this past weekend. I had no desire to try that. I will stick to wakesurfing a few times a year. I did pickup a bike this summer and found out I have miles of trails behind my house. I might start biking more in the near future.
If I could just find someone that will do all the heavy lifting I would probably go out more on a boat. I hate being the one that gets it, launches it and then puts it away. Having one of the shop guys meet me at the dock is WAY better. _________________ Wakeskating

Thanks man. I was 25; got together at 20, married at 25, divorced at 30. I guess that's what I get for listening to religious fanatics. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

My wife and I are on a similar timeline, but we've been together 15 going on 16 now. There were no religious fanatics involved with us!

Got married for the first time at 22. Only good thing out of that was my two great kids. One of the best things to ever happen to me was getting out of my toxic marriage and away from my ex.
WakeBrad - Pick us all up at the dock and take us on some boat rides this summer. _________________ Wakeskating

Ok but honestly - how long did it take you to find that gif? If you had that bookmarked then that's just cheating. But still fair and appropriate. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com
