Anyone have one? With the new house, we had an extra room that couldn't really be used for a guest room nor do we need 2, so I told the old lady that I was making it my man cave. Realistically, it's just a place where all my belongings will end up because women. So far, my plans are just to have a TV, xbox, couch, recliner, and then the various fish related art i have as well as my No wake buoy lamp, and then a nice size Valentino Rossi poster over the couch. Eventually I'd like to add a BMW decoration (Probably something resembling an e30 front grill).

I don't. I left my neon signs and shitty furniture in College Station when I graduated. If you go through with this, call it a game room or something other than man cave. This is just my opinion, but if you have a "man cave" that means your SO confined all your stuff that she doesn't like to one room for no one else to see and convinced you that it was your awesome idea.

Laughing Laughing Laughing True.

Not that I should talk, I've got basically a shooting gallery in my basement with hockey net, pucks, tarps... I just tell my wife it's for our son. Eventually you will start losing all that junk you've collected in college or it will be "confined" to an area like the garage and be "your" brilliant idea like ohsix siad..

I think he meant that sarcastically referring to his girlfriend.

I have an office and a cardio room. I get to set those up, with her having veto approval. She gets the rest of the house and I get veto approval.

That said, almost everything I had as a bachelor is now gone. Very Happy

We once had an "office" and a "workout room". Now we just have toys. Lots of toys. So many toys. Evil or Very Mad

He has an entire play room and some of the living room floor with toys. I'm sure if I had two running around, I would have the same problem.

I've never really cared for the concept of a man cave. If your SO hates your stuff so much that it needs to be confined to a specific area of the house, maybe it's better to decide between the SO and the stuff preemptively. I'd rather hang out with my SO and watch the game than retreat to my "cave" and watch the game by myself.

There are literally toys in every room in our house. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Laughing

Oh, there are toys in all but two rooms of my house. But - it is just a few here and a few there. The main concentration is in the play room. One day, that area will be mine. Very Happy

Make it into a theater room.

That way you'll actually get some use of it. We made the "games" room into a theater room a couple of years ago. Best decision ever.

If we had an extra room like that, I'd turn it into a wine storage room and office combo.

Never got into the whole man cave thing... The "woman cave" would be our laundry room though, as my wife will attest! *thanks hon!*

I bought a house at the coast last year and we're probably building a new one in the next few years. Plans include a tackle room (with a/c) inside the garage and a study/office. Neither of these I would consider "mine", however, as both of us use the office and both of us rig our tackle. Guess it depends a lot on the hobbies and past times of you and the "ol' lady".

I've been told that since we don't use our formal dining room that I'm to convert it into a kids playroom for now and all the toys will go there. Anyone know where to get a good deal on those stupid coloured EVA foam mats? I'm supposed to cover the entire floor with them.

ontrider, ya just convert the whole house to Nerf. Make sure to gear the kid up like a goalie when they go outside too.

Seriously though, is your floor concrete or tile? Just throw an old rug down and call it a day! Idea

I used to go barefoot all the time on our hard floors. Now I try to keep flip flops on. Stepping on a random Cheerio or worse, a LEGO sucks balls.

I think playing with the dogs was easier with the hard floors. Especially funny when you get them running around, then they hit that 90° right turn and wipeout! Funny as hell! Laughing

when i say playing w/ the dog, i mean down on all 4s wrestling. since my 1st dog passed last year, i've had to take his place in the biteyface games. no way in hell my knees and feet could handle that on hardwood.

That sounds like a good idea. Nerf drywall!
Yeah, the floor is hardwood, so I was thinking either the foam or some sort of large area rug or old carpet. Don't really want to spend $200 on foam, but I definitely don't want to crawl around on hardwood either. It's also because I don't really want toys getting smashed into the floor and wrecking it. (chavez is probably laughing at that) I'm sure kids destroy the whole house eventually.

Our floors are refinished so the dogs are only allowed to play in their "area" at the back which is carpet and tile and is gated off from the hardwood.

I am not sure which one is worse: stepping on a LEGO or a chunk of dried PlayDoh. Both are terrible though.

It's not painful, but sugar crisps + socks in the kitchen is super-irritating.

If you're stepping on a random cheerio, your dog is not living up to his end of the deal.

LOL on the corners...I agree...I also like when you get them riled up and then they try to run away and the slip for the first few steps trying to get going.

My dogs went to "live on the farm" three years ago. And my dad's dog is weird. Sometimes she'd eat a sock covered in Sriracha and other times she turns her nose at a Milk-Bone. F*cking drama queen ate my damn master bedroom doors too because she wanted to get on our bed while we were all out having dinner. She failed, but it looked like a crime scene from CSI in there. Evil or Very Mad

Needless to say, my dad's dog - who only visits once every few weeks - is more than enough dog for us right now!!!
